24.01.2022 *edit* so much fun had today and this week by everyone including our amazing educators! Happy Book Week! This year’s theme is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds. A great tradition since 1945 that brings children and books together, celebrating children’s authors, books and at the same time highlighting the importance of books and reading to the education of young children. #bookweek #literature #reading #education #earlylearning

23.01.2022 2020 has presented everyone - adults & children alike - with unique challenges that have had the potential to contribute to increased strain on mental health and well-being. Remaining socially connected while we're required to be physically distancing from family and friends has not been easy, but a conversation could save a life, or simply just brighten someone's day. Today is R U OK Day and we'll be working with our children on the ways that we can all be a good friend and ask, R U OK? #aconversationcouldsavealife #socialconnectedness #ruok #inthistogether

18.01.2022 Welcome to the first day of Spring! Today is also National Wattle Day. Wattle is Australia's National Floral Emblem and is among the first plant species to re-generate after fire, representing the importance of renewal. 2020 has been a tough year, but nature has it's way of brightening our path and teaching us about resilience as we look forward to rebuilding after a difficult year. 'Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better', Albert Einstein. #nationalwattleday #spring #renewal #nature

11.01.2022 To celebrate Sustainable House Day this Sunday, Rachel has been working with the children this week to explain how minimizing household waste can lead us all to a more sustainable future. In this lesson, Rachel shows us how easy it is to make Vinegar from your apple cores and peels that you’d otherwise throw away, to be used in so many different ways. It’s also an easy activity that you can get into over the weekend with kids! #sustainablehouseweek... #reducereuserecycle #sustainablefuture #applescrapvinegar See more

07.01.2022 Baby sleep problems are very common around 75% of parents report that they have difficulties with their baby’s sleep during the first year. For some these sleep difficulties pass, but for others they persist into toddlerhood and sometimes right across childhood too. Given the importance of sleep for healthy child development and parent mental health, it’s important to seek help if sleep difficulties are severe and/or persistent. Dr Fallon Cook, founder of Melbourne Infant Sleep has some great tips and hints for overcoming sleep problems in babies and toddlers https://www.fitzroyelc.com.au/baby-toddler-sleep

06.01.2022 This week we’ve been busy celebrating Planet Ark National Recycling Week, which gives us occasion to reinforce what we practice each day with our children. Educating children around the importance of dividing waste appropriately will instill great habits from an early age that will help to protect our planet for generations to come! Happy #nationalrecyclingweek #rethink #reduce #reuse #recycle

04.01.2022 Today is World Wild Life Day. This is a day to celebrate the many beautiful and varied wild fauna and flora in the world and to raise awareness of their benefits to people and earth. The theme for this year is ‘Sustaining all life on earth’. To celebrate, today in Playground to Plate , we had Vince from Aussie Wildlife Displays who came in to share his beautiful Australian animals with the children and to educate us on their benefits to our land. He had great names for the...m too. We had Tabatha the Python, Ally the Wombat and Steve the sugar glider to name a few. How lucky are we to have these animals in our biodiversity and that we could see them up close and personal. #wildlife #australiananimals #worldwildlifeday See more
