Fitzroy Island Resort is a 45-minute boat transfer by the Fitzroy Flyer (about 30 kms) from Cairns in Queensland and boasts 105 Resort Studio, Suites, Bungalows and Beach Cabins. Other facilities include Campground, Pool Bar, Zephyr Restaurant, Foxy’s Bar, Conference and Meeting Facilities, Retail Shop, Turtle Rehab Centre and an array of water activities. Located on the Great Barrier Reef, the Island is close to Cairns and a favourite... to both visitors to the region and locals alike. Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Guest Service Agent (GSA) for our Front Office Team at Fitzroy Island Resort. -Outstanding customer service-related skills & problem-solving skills. -Strong computer skills in all aspects including spread sheets, PMS systems (Guest Centrix CMS an advantage) & Boat Manifesting Systems (Rezdy an advantage). -Duties will include guest check-in, administration work, answering emails & phone calls. Reservations experience would be highly regarded. -You will be required to work weekends and a mixture of morning/afternoon shifts subject to business/rostering demands. -Preparing quotes for reservations, tour sales & bookings as well as other duties as directed. About You: Successful applicants would have a minimum of 1-year of experience in a similar position in a 4-5 star hotel and possess the following attributes: -Demonstrated experience with producing reports, compiling data, dealing with enquiries including general bookings, taking bookings over the phone, via email or website including changes, and cancellations. -Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer software packages including Guest Centrix & Microsoft Office. -Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. -Ability to work weekends and public holidays is essential. Must be flexible in being able to work both in the Cairns and Fitzroy Island offices as needed. -Experience with SiteMinder, Rezdy and WIM would be an advantage. -First Aid certification is required for this position.
