21.01.2022 Happy National Threatened Species Day! Threatened Species Day raises awareness for plants and animals across Australia that are under threat. It promotes and reflects on ways we can protect plants and animals now and into the future. Today also celebrates the great work we are already doing across the board to conserve and protect threatened species. Today we are promoting Eremophila koobabbiensis or commonly known as the Koobabbie Poverty Bush. This Eremophila is one of... many on the rare or threatened list in Australia. The plant itself was found on a property in the Avon Wheatbelt area where there was less then 100 believed to be in existence. Since finding the plant a plan to save the species was put in place and it’s now grown in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. There are now 3 successful areas where they have now re planted the Eremophila koobabbiensis in near by locations to keep the species alive. We currently have 20 in stock with another dozen just recently potted up. This is a small Eremophila that only grows 1m-1m, with beautiful light purple flowers. Make sure you come in and grab yourself one.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone What a beautiful day it is in sunny Gawler. We have had some great early rains and the weather is still nice. You can still plant our hardy native plants out into the garden and they can get established over the next few months. Ready to take off in Spring.... Unfortunately our range has been reduced due to great sales in Autumn but our quality is still awesome. Please note that we will not be open in July except by appointment only. We will be busy working behind the scenes to get ready for the spring planting season.

09.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day Wishing all the dads out there a wonderful day with their families. We are open until midday today.... It’s a perfect time to plant at the moment while soil moisture is still in the sub soil and fingers crossed we still get some good Spring rains. Our speciality are Eremophilas and they are all starting to take off with quite a few in flower. We have them available in tubes and pots.

08.01.2022 Hi everyone So far in 2 weeks it's been a typical Spring, with the weather all over the place. Keep up the weeding and also make sure your freshly planted stock gets at least one good drink a week, even if it rains. The warm days and wind in early Spring can dry out the soil very quickly. So mulch, mulch, mulch! Mulch reduces evaporation and keeps the roots on your new plants cooler.... Fitzy's Natives will be at the SA Spring Garden Festival at Mt Pleasant on Saturday the 19th and 26th of September. There will be plenty of other stall holders and something for just about everyone Have an awesome weekend everyone
