19.01.2022 Did you know that over a quarter of Australia's butterflies use native grasses as their host-plants and at least 26 species use 'Tussock Grasses'. Tussock Gra...sses (Poa species) are a large group of native 'clumping' grasses that come in different sizes and shades of green. Some species support only a single butterfly whilst others are used by many. Two of the most used are 'Slender Tussock Grass' and 'Large Tussock Grass'. Few native grasslands remain and even these are hanging-on in remnant patches. Can you help bring them back? They make great additions to gardens, verges, habitat corridors, parklands, regeneration projects... More about Slender Tussock-Grass here: http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl More about Large Tussock-Grass here: https://www.anbg.gov.au/.../train.../poa-labillardierei.html

08.01.2022 Thanks to everyone over the past 12 months for your support! It’s been great fun working alongside so many different people on their gardening projects. We continue to expand our range and volume and we would not be where we are today without all of you! ... Once again thank you so much

07.01.2022 Hi everyone I hope you all had a good week and your gardens have done well through the first hot weather test earlier this week. Our plants in the nursery certainly enjoyed it and are growing well.... We have more plants coming on. We have been tubing on more stock this week to help keep the nursery fully stocked. A plant looking particularly good this week is Westringia fruticosa or Native or Coast Rosemary. It grows to 2m x 2m and is a very good plant as a formal hedge or screen plant with nice white flowers. A very hardy plant from the coast to the inland. Here are photos of the plants tubed this week and some nice mature plants ready to put in the ground right now. We have plenty in stock. Opening hours this weekend are... Saturday 10am till 2pm Sunday 8am till 3pm Have a great weekend

04.01.2022 Hi everyone I hope Spring is going well for all you gardeners out there. It has been great to be getting rain on almost a weekly basis in most areas of SA and the weather has been quite mild with the odd hot day.... Still a great time to plant especially if you can keep your plants watered for their first summer. They will establish quickly with the soil temperature starting to warm up. We have a great selection of plants with some native grasses almost ready and the ever popular Eremophilas looking great and flowering in the tubes. This week's first special of Spring is Vittadinia sp or New Holland Daisy. A very hardy daisy with light mauve flowers, which grows to 40cm and can self seed in some gardens. A Lovely dainty little plant that makes a great filler for those garden beds. Special is $2! We will be open all weekend (Saturday and Sunday) from 8am until 3pm

We still have plenty of great stock so you can come and just have a look tomorrow or plan for a future planting with great advice from us. Thanks for all your ongoing support of our small family business. We appreciate it We will open for shorter hours tomorrow due to very hot weather 8am till 1pm. Hope to see you then. If not have a fantastic weekend
