23.01.2022 Never a dull moment on the farm, with an incident earlier in the week rendering our yards out of action we had a very generous neighbour spring in to action to help us finish the Red Angus girls AI program with their yards. This meant a 2km walk through another neighbours property and then through the valley! Very lucky to be in the community we are!

23.01.2022 Beautiful spring like days with some fat cows! Daily/2 day moves in full effect and really starting to see the benefits of resting areas for 40+ days

23.01.2022 Today was the chickens one bad day! We are super happy with how much these have dressed out at! Averaging about 1.9kg we certainly are learning with every batch!

21.01.2022 Excited to announce that 2/3 of our Registered Belted Galloway cows are expecting! Both Mae and Matilda have been confirmed as in calf and due from November. Unfortunately Katrine tested negative this time around.

21.01.2022 Calving is officially under way with the first of our commercial black Angus hitting the ground on Sunday morning. A smooth delivery for the first time heifer and a very cute calf now running around!

19.01.2022 Winter is all about bare-rooted fruit trees! We were lucky enough to get these 8 cherry trees to add to our almonds, apricots, apples, pears, nectarines, plums and peaches! And although they don’t look like much now they will be green and thriving by mid spring! Thanks to Balhannah Nurseries for these and all our recently planted trees!

18.01.2022 Beautiful little native bee bunkering down in cold weather on a cape weed flower!

16.01.2022 Not much happening on the farm, so here’s a picture of some curious girls on a glorious winter day!

14.01.2022 We are once again sold out of our Adelaide Hills pasture raised chickens! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us again! We would love to see how you’ve cooked yours so feel free to post any photos below and tag your friends so they too can get some of these amazing whole chickens!

12.01.2022 A great day to be on pasture

11.01.2022 Having a walk around the pastures this morning it’s great to see a very healthy population of dung beetles starting to draw some of those nutrients deep into the soil and fertilise our future pastures

10.01.2022 And we’re back! 80 day old Cornish cross meat chickens in the brooder today, to say we’re excited is an understatement! These little guys and girls are eating, scratching digging pooping machines! This gives us the ability to utilise them for weed control and fertilising, meaning no chemical inputs and no heavy machinery or soil disturbance! Taking 8 weeks to grow (and our last batch selling out in a day!) follow their journey as we go from paddock to plate! #RegenAg #pastureraiseddifference #FivePaddockFarm #carbonfarming

06.01.2022 Happy International Dog day to all those hard working (and not so hard working ) dogs out there!

06.01.2022 Having a go at making a worm tea foliar spray, this will be applied to our orchard and pastures in an attempt to increase our microbiology and pasture health! No idea if it’ll work or how it will go but worth a crack!

03.01.2022 Available now! $13.50/kg for whole birds with delivery available!

03.01.2022 We sold out! Thank you to everyone that supported us on our first batch of pasture raised chickens! We had far more support than what we had initially thought we would! With winter now settling in we wont have another batch until early spring, watch this page and follow the journey as we go from paddock to plate!

02.01.2022 So exciting to see our second calf on the ground with Hightop Mae giving birth to a healthy boy sired by Murrumbidgee Nitro! With only Matilda to go for this season we're hoping for a heifer calf

01.01.2022 This is why we do what we do, cows moved regularly to new paddocks to graze down the grass and weeds without compacting and destroying an area!

01.01.2022 Excited to welcome 12 new heritage breeds on to the farm this morning. These 7 Australorps and 5 Araucanas are the beginning of our future breeding and egg laying flock. These will eventually be added to our Marans and Silver Pencilled Wyandotte flocks and seperated in spring to produce purebred chicks!
