22.01.2022 When my father was hit by a car my mother's friend Mimi picked me up from the airport the next morning. I was in shock and she brought me home. I wailed with ...grief for a few moments with my mother and then got to work making arrangements. I wish that I had had more of a chance to press it - but this just brought it all back - and is helping me to consider how to move forward with my mother in the coming years. Mimi's mother passed away recently and she's been writing about the experience. This post isn't directly related to our film- but it will make you FEEL some emotions and it will help you to expand your scope of thinking. Powerful healing stuff. See more

16.01.2022 "At her wish, Rebecca decided to try yet another new form of chemotherapy, but also spent some time talking to her palliative care doctor and formulating a clear plan that she wanted to be home with Jack. If or when further problems came, she wanted to remain at home. She had already been linked in to community palliative care supports some time earlier, so knew these nurses well and trusted them. " Palliative care is so much more than end of life care. Read Rebecca's story here http://ow.ly/ExAm30gd1Cs

12.01.2022 As I read this lovely article about love and grief, I thought of how much more those we leave behind when we die, have from us, especially Wish No.5

08.01.2022 Choosing to live as our authentic selves is not an easy decision. Because it means we will no longer live as someone else’s image or version of us. We now say n...o to them when they attempt to manipulate us to do what they think we should do, be who they want us to be, and live in the manner they think we should. As difficult and complex as it is to get out from under such influence and overt and covert manipulation (much of which may be unconscious in the other persons mind) once you do it, there is no turning back. When you find yourself, you luxuriate in that sweet discovery and find it unacceptable to live any other way. It is a gift to just be. The journey to get there is arduous, ongoing, along unpopular routes, not understood by your fellow travelers, met with indifference, contempt or even warnings of doom and damnation, but it is the only path to living free. And it is only when we are free that we do our best work in this world. 05.01.2022 This article highlights the importance of documenting your wishes so your family know exactly what you want when you can no longer speak for yourself. In every other part of medicine, doctors make recommendations for medications, lifestyle changes and surgeries. We don’t offer cancer patients six different chemotherapy regimens and ask them to weigh the pros and cons. Yet when it comes to end-of-life decisions, doctors are terrified of violating patient autonomy.

05.01.2022 An important reminder to have your Wishes clearly expressed in writing.
