25.01.2022 Our first onions drying in the polytunnel. These are an early variety and we will harvest the others soon. Still to come are more brown onions, red onions and Long Red Tropea for something different. These will keep us going with onions for months to come. With real onion flavour and strength they will make you cry as you cut them so get your goggles out!
22.01.2022 Flood survivors going in the ground today. These babies were seeded the day before the flood and then submerged in their trays for nearly 48 hours before germinating and growing superbly. May they continue this winning streak by providing many cuts for our salad bags over Winter.
20.01.2022 Get your gorgeous zucchini and long cucumbers at our seedling stall this morning outside 33 Hilton Rd Springwood! More info in previous posts.
15.01.2022 Zucchini pan fried in olive oil with paprika, garlic and salt. So good hot or cold. Get your zucchini and cucumbers at our pop up stall now and tomorrow outside 33 Hilton Rd Springwood. Simply leave cash in mailbox and take away your loot. Small zucchini and long cucumbers $1 each, medium zucchini $2 each.
13.01.2022 This humble cucumber makes the most delicious pickles. It is very firm so it stays crunchy in the jar. Simply slice into rounds and make your favourite spiced vinegar then pack in a jar and pour in the liquid. I do recommend using a recipe. Perfect as a Christmas gift. Get some now at our pop up stall outside 33 Hilton Rd Springwood as we won’t be selling this variety anymore after this week. We also have green and gold zucchini for sale. Today and tomorrow. Self serve, use hand sanitiser provided and leave cash in mailbox. Thanks for the support!
10.01.2022 Planting kale and sporting my gorgeous yellow zinc (sunsmart!). The recovery effort continues
08.01.2022 Begone caterpillars! Chinese cabbage all tucked up.
06.01.2022 Replacement carrots are up and growing! Moments like these keep us going in our recovery efforts. Though they won’t be ready for a few months we are already dreaming of eating them.
04.01.2022 SO WHAT’S IN THE BAG THIS WEEK? In our last week before a two-week break we have zucchini, cucumbers, salad mix, some gorgeous rocket, mini onions, radish, garlic and two mystery items. Our large bags also have Asian greens, broccoli or cauliflower, silverbeet and cabbage.
