05.01.2022 How do I get the most out of my evaporative cooler? For an evaporative air conditioner to work effectively, some windows or outside doors must be open. The hot air has to be able to escape out of your home. The best approach is to open the windows or outside doors that are the furthest away from the air conditioning vents or ducts. In the rooms with air conditioning vents, try to have an exhaust area of open window (or door) that is about twice the size of the vent opening. ...On days of high humidity it may be helpful to switch the cooler to ventilation mode. When the temperature is high you should turn the fan speed down. This allows the water to thoroughly wet the pads, therefore giving you a cooler breeze. The fan speed should never be on more than half way.
