25.01.2022 Hi Flames families, Well today marks the day of the end of the winter 2020 season, many of you should have been preparing for the winter Grand Finals but unfortunately that wasnt to be this year. We still dont have any information on our return to basketball or how the summer 2020/21 season will play out. As soon as we have any updates we will be sure to keep you informed. ... Some children will advance to the older age group when we return so we will contact you all to confirm your return and team allocations. For those of you that have paid your Basketball Victoria registration this will carry over to the coming season. We still have our competition running and there is still time for entries to be submitted, so dust off the new kit and get creative! Wed love to see your entries. The competition will close at 4pm today and the winner will be announced shortly after. The winner will receive a Flames gift pack that will include Flames towel Flames socks Sweat bands Hair ties Nail clippers Your prize will be ready and waiting for you when we return. All members can be contacted at [email protected] WBA have confirmed a restart date for winter season of Friday July 17th for U8 and Saturday July 18th for U10 and above. Flames training will commence on Monday 13th July - training schedule is to be confirmed and we will update you when we have this finalised. Coaches please make sure you advise the club of any training requirements you may have by Friday 26th June (times etc) once the schedule is set it will be very hard to adjust due to covid-19 requirements we need to follow. Please confirm your place! Its very important that we have confirmed numbers so teams can be set and uploaded to PlayHQ. Any player NOT returning for the Winter season needs to be advised to your team a manger by Friday 26th June, any place not confirmed by this date will be filled. Registrations, ALL players need to be registered and insured on PlayHQ before they can attend any training session and be placed in a team. We will be more than happy to assist anyone experiencing difficulties with this process, please contact us! Fees, at this stage we request that only the Basketball Victoria insurance payment of $25 for juniors and $39 for seniors be paid until we can confirm fees for this shortened season. ALL fees need to be finalised before Friday 31st July (this is 3 weeks from our first week back) invoices will be handed out at our first training session and uniform rebates will be applied. Payment plans are also available. Any unpaid fees will result in a player not being able to take the court. 16.01.2022 Uniform Update! GREAT NEWS, uniforms are on their way! The first lot of deliveries have gone out today and members will start receiving their orders over the next couple of days. ... If you have paid in full, you can expect to receive your order in the first round of deliveries. If your order was on a payment plan, these arrangements will need to be completed before your order will be released. Payment plans will recommence over the next couple of days. We are still taking orders for new uniforms so if you are yet to place your order please do so ASAP! Please do not hesitate to contact the club if you have any questions.
16.01.2022 UNIFORM ANNOUNCEMENT We have just been advised ALL items in uniform packs are now ready for postage. We had hoped that we would have been able to have them delivered to our uniform night at training this evening but due to the current lockdown items will now be posted to all families. ... If you have paid for your order in full you will start to receive these in the coming days/week. There are however a few orders that are yet to have payments finialised, this will need to be completed before items can be shipped. If you are unsure if you have an outstanding balance Peter is happy to confirm this with you, you can do this by contacting him on 9464 1721. Were also aware that some children may have outgrown the original sizes ordered, this is also something that Peter is happy to discuss and rectify. 06.01.2022 ONE WEEK TO GO Preparation for our return to basketball is in full swing! Please make sure your registrations are complete before returning to Eagle Stadium on Monday July 13th. All players must be registered to attend. ... Flames is committed to the safe return to sport for all families following the COVID-19 pandemic. To monitor and manage, we are looking for volunteers to take on the role as a Biosafety Officer each Monday to manage our compliance to BVs Return to Sport Guidelines. 1 X volunteer 5-6pm 2 X volunteers 6-7pm The duties would include: will monitor no more than four (4) courts at a time; will complete and record the number of participants on each court during each allocated session (attendance records will be provided) will ensure that equipment is sanitised in accordance with the Return To Sport Guidelines; when required, will ask patrons to separate, or leave the venue to comply with the RTS Guidelines; will return a signed checklist at the end of their shift; will report any participant refusing to follow reasonable requests to the Competitions Manager of the club or association. 02.01.2022 2020 - WINTER SEASON CANCELLED Due to todays state government announcement, winter 2020 season will be cancelled. Our committee have been working endlessly to make sure we were well prepared for the shortened season but unfortunately this will not proceed. ... Those members who have already paid their winter fees will have the credit held over for summer and your Basketball Victoria registrations will not commence until we have a complete return to sport. We will be in contact with you all after the lockdown has been lifted to ensure we are as prepared for the Summer season. 02.01.2022 BIG NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT With the reopening of Eagle Stadium and the current directives from the Victorian Government non contact training can resume from Monday 9th November To say we’re excited is an understatement! ... There’re a few key points we need to address given we are all adjusting to the current COVID-19 environment. Training will be NON CONTACT until the restrictions are further eased. Early sessions will be structured around strength and conditioning in order to help our little athletes regain their fitness levels due to the lengthy break. All players will be required to bring their own balls and drink bottle Sessions will run in their usual 1 hour blocks with 45mins of training. This allows the entry and exiting time required around these current circumstances. Player attendance will be recorded by our Bio Safety officers on court. Sessions will be ‘athletes only’ for the first few weeks. Players will be asked to promptly meet at the entry of the stadium with their teams and coach. Parents are asked to collect their child/children at the end of their session at the entry of Eagle Stadium. All families will be contacted in the next 48 hours by a club official to confirm their position. We would appreciate your prompt response as this will allow us to get our kids back on courts seamlessly and quickly. If you do not receive a text message by Thursday 5th November please contact us. Basketball Victoria insurance will roll over from previous season but registration will need to be completed again at $0 charge. All Covid-19 rules will be adhered to at ALL times.
