24.01.2022 I was filming Rowley at the gym today with the intention of showing how he settles around distractions when working in public, but instead captured this mid-wor...kout medical alert! Please share to help raise awareness of the amazing life changing work these special dogs do. **Rowley is able to alert up to 7 minutes before I become unconscious by detecting subtle biochemical changes in my body using his incredible nose. This gives me plenty of time to find somewhere to lay down safely instead of suddenly collapsing and hurting myself. I trained him to do this using samples of my saliva for scent detection. As well as being a Medical Alert Dog Rowley is a trained Guide Dog for my visual impairment and Disability Assistance Dog for my mobility difficulties. 24.01.2022 Why can we get so annoyed by our nearest and dearest? Turns out, this is because of that old adage "familiarity breeds contempt" and if you're not careful, it can undermine a relationship.

24.01.2022 Yep .. the only way hand washing stops the spread is if EVERYONE gets to do it. So hording all the soap is actually going to make things get much worse. So if you have more then to protect yourself and your family start handing it out to others.

24.01.2022 This is the reason I don't have a mirror in my clinic. When I used to I would have some patients stand there after a massage and pick faults with themselves.. As all of you know after a massage your not always looking fabulous, your hair can be a little mussed, face a little red from looking down into face pillow etc- all minor things that fix themselves very quickly.. But massage is about helping someone feel better both physically and mentally. So thats why there is no mirror in my clinic :) ..Oh and don't worry if you get up from your massage and your hair really could do with a little attention before you leave . Yes I will tell you and direct you to the bathroom :)

21.01.2022 for those of you staying within - or will be.. this is a great site for leaning 1000s of different things.. I've done a few courses with them and have not done a crappy one yet... lots of choices.. and the price is very reasonable.. (the trick is to sign up for their mailing list and you get sent their specials every few days.. I've never paid more then $15 per course and their courses are pretty extensive.. Hope it helps..

18.01.2022 Due to the lock down I've decided to take the long service leave I had planned for next year so won't be open till January. After 33 years of massaging it's long overdue lol. Also gives a few work related aches and pains and chance to recover. See everyone then.

14.01.2022 Due to Covid-19 I am on long service leave till January. Hopefully by then it will not be so prevalent in our community and I can re open safely (keeping everyone safe by social distancing is impossible when your job requirement is massage and I won't risk anyone in my clinic). All vouchers are of course on hold and will be honoured once I re open ( many of my older patients know that I have always honoured vouchers even when they have expired past their use by date). Keep safe everyone and I look forward to seeing you all healthy and happy in the new year.

Keep safe everyone. Follow the social distancing rules, thank the front line workers who are risking themselves for us ( that includes medical staff, chemist workers, cashiers,teachers/child educators, cleaners, delivery drivers, stock fillers and supermarket workers and takeaway food workers and so many more) without those amazing people this would be 100 times worse)

Its all about the tone that our brains are hearing not the words.. and so many well meaning inspirational words can easily turn negative/ can create doubt and feed off old rubbish if said in the wrong or questioning/doubting tone.. eg I am confident, I am beautiful .. can all be said with a question mark tone on our bad days.. But not FUCK IT I'M FABULOUS.. there is ...no doubting that tone.. there is no question mark/hesitation.. so screw it - start your day at the mirror with a strong loud FUCK IT I'M FABULOUS.. if all it does in the beginning is get a self conscious giggle from you then half the job is done (giggling creates the start of those good happy hormones we so lack).. 03.01.2022 For anyone interested. These are the strict infection control measures going on in my clinic.. Also there will be a 10 min space between every patient booking from now on (this gives me time to not just prep the room in the normal way but to also follow these measures - table and surfaces being disinfected, new linen on table and glen 20 being applied- and me being able to give my hands/arms a surgical scrub down ) If you are a couple booking and are comfortable going straigh...t after each other then thats fine, Ill just need a minute to change linens and scrub my hands . Once again if you have been even slightly unwell for WHATEVER REASON please reschedule your booking- remember I do not charge a cancellation fee.. Also please everyone remember we are AUSTRALIANS (regardless if you have been here for generations or newly arrived) and we pride ourselves on mateship- which means helping when we can, looking after and out for each other, not taking everything for ourselves to leave others to suffer. I know its scary right now but in a few months when this is all over what do you want to remember? how you panicked brought and brought months of supplies while knowing that pensioners were left with nothing? Or that you did what you could, stepped in when the opportunity occurred, helped someone you didn't have to help.. We can do better..
