25.01.2022 Poomse and its practical applications. Tonights lesson focused on poomse and self defence. Some people find forms boring and dont really put a lot of effort into practicing and learning them properly. Tonights lesson demonstrated the actual application of the moves in the forms and really made everybody think about their forms, the moves and what they could be defending. This was a great learning experience for all and really demonstrated to everyone the necessity of getting to class regularly or practicing regularly at home.

22.01.2022 Its with a lot of excitement that I can announce that West Launceston classes will now be run out of the Door of Hope Starting this Thursday, same times! 4-5...pm for juniors and 5-6pm for seniors. This first session back will be free for returning members and the whole of Feb is free for new students! Instructors w...ill then make a judgement based on training time and preparedness. The big three you need to have covered: - self developed step exercise (must be doable with any partner otherwise its less a reflection on your skills and more a reflection on their ability) - Taekwondo forms - board break routine With 3 Saturdays left at BB training and your regular classes, train hard, be positive and make Taekwondo a priority! 09.01.2022 CLASSES CLOSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF TERM Dear Students, I am really sorry to inform you that we are closing classes for this term, effective immediately. It has... become clear that there is a moral imperative to act to contribute to the protection of the most vulnerable in our community. I am aware that the risk of community transmission in Tasmania this week is virtually nil but many sporting and community organisations are now taking the view that immediate action is appropriate rather than waiting until the virus is more widespread. Most schools and other essential services are currently continuing to operate but non essential activities are being limited. We must do our bit. We will be posting videos of forms and step exercise on FB, and encourage you to keep up practice at home. If you have a monthly fee card, the expiry will be appropriately extended. The virus will pass and we will resume the sport / art that we love. In the meantime we will act in the spirit of Taekwondo and put others first. Thank you so much for your understanding and support. 08.01.2022 What a beautiful evening we had for our annual Taekwondo dinner. Congratulations to Newstead, Summerdale and Waverley and Hadspen for winning the club shields. Congratulations to Debbie McCumiskey and Angela for winning the Ray Rider Award. Thank you Rae Yost for organising the event, wonderfully as ever and Naomi Brown for an awesome PowerPoint presentation of the present clubs over this last year. Now this event is over it is time to focus on the end of year gradings an...d blackbelt grading. If you are a red or black belt and intend to post interest in grading you must attend more than one class a week. Those who are black belt and have an interest in grading must attended more than one lesson a week and attend black belt training, unless there is a reason why you cant. All black belts must be seen by the head instructor Michael Flanagan before being placed on the list. Black belt training is on every Saturday until the grading 5-6pm. All belt levels are welcome but the focus is on advanced practice. The cost is $5 and the instructor is Benjamin Munting. See you all at classes this week. See more

Check out there website as they have fitness and nutrition programs to suit most people as well as the free live sessions that you can watch at the time or later depending on what is happening at the time. I expect to see you back fit and ready when we recommence .
