20.01.2022 It is coming up to Christmas and people are getting more daring with these scam phone calls. Just remember that ATO dont accept "Google Play Cards" as currency. Here are aa few steps you can take: 1. Never give them any personal details!!!!!! 2. Write down the phone numbet... 3. Tell them that you lodge your tax returns with an accountant(even if you dont) 4. Ask for a reference numbet, their agent id, asnd full name 5. Tell them thank you for letting you know and you will call your agent right away. 6. If they insist, tell them you will contact the ATO personally. 7. Hang up. At this point I suggest you call your accountant(if you your tax with one) or the ATO right away to confirm. Both will take down all the information an dx have it reported to the pokice. DO NOT CALL BACK. Call me and I can report it. This is a new scam.

06.01.2022 "THAT PHONE CALL" So twice last week i received "that" phone call. Yes. The automated message sating i have failed to lodge numerous tax returns. I owe a large sum of money and i need to call the number back and quote a reference number.... If i didnt do it by end of day, a warrant would be issued for my arrest. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN THE PHONE CALL!!! Call your Tax Agent immediately and make sure everything is up to date. If you not sure, go to the ATO website and type the phone number in the search bar. If it doesnt turn up a result, then it is definately not a call from the ATO. If you still have questions, even if you are not a client of mine, please do not hesitate to contact me on 9606 4466
