25.01.2022 So Mark has hit the slow part and is still making it hard on himself.

25.01.2022 Very happy with how this double nock take down Shrike came out. The 54 inch string is 33#@28". And the 52 inch string is 37#@28". Exactly the target weights required. And some really beautiful woods.

25.01.2022 Some finishing touches. #flatline_bows #bowbuilding #archery #traditionalbow #tradarchery #crazywoodwork #bowyer #recurvebow #longbow #tradbow #doublenock

24.01.2022 Did a bit today, got the riser roughed out on the band saw.

23.01.2022 Mark is doing a great job. In the clamps now. It's gonna be epic!

21.01.2022 Happy with how this one turned out. It's a Flatline Avian, 62"- 46#@28" 60"- 51#@28" Black Palm in the center of the riser and limb belly. Boree on the outside of the riser and Red Lancewood on the back of the limbs.

20.01.2022 Here's one for the books. My mate is making a really complex work of art kind of bow and I'm making a normal standard one. Both take down Shrikes though. First pics are the one I'm doing and the last is where Mark is up to on his. ... #flatline_bows #teamshrike #bowbuilding #archery #traditionalbow #functionalartwork #recurvebow #amazingwoodwork #awesomewoodwork #tradarchery #tradbow

20.01.2022 Well I just did a three day shoot with my new @marksmanquivers five arrow set-back bow quiver on the #thedreaming . And I have to say, what an excellent piece of kit. The mounting system is simple and easy to use and solid as a rock. Which is normally the downfall of most limb mounted quivers. My bow, the Dreaming, being an obviously iconic Australian bow had to have an Australian made quiver and I am truly proud that mark from @marksmanquivers makes such a superior product. Couldn't be happier. If you want a trouble free, no fuss bow quiver that simply does what it is meant to do, check them out you won't regret it. Thanks Mark.

19.01.2022 A little Red Tulip Oak and the inevitable Black Palm veneers on their way to the hot box.

17.01.2022 This take down, double nock, Shrike is starting to look the part.

16.01.2022 Had an absolute ball at the Tully Bowhunters invitational shoot on the weekend. These guys really know how to hold an awesome archery event. It was certainly well attended by Flatline bow owners. I was going to try to get them all together for a photo for the page but it would have been like herding cats. I did manage to get my group to stand in a line for a bit. ;-)

16.01.2022 Back at it after a short break. These double nocks take some time.

13.01.2022 Been doing a bit on Glen's bow in between the million other things on my plate atm.

13.01.2022 Mark put another day in and made some good progress on his work of art.

12.01.2022 Can you see the bows in this Dead Finish and Purple Gidgee?

10.01.2022 Happy with how this one turned out. It's a Flatline Avian, 62"- 46 #@28" 60"- 51 #@28" Black Palm in the center of the riser and limb belly. Boree on the outside of the riser and Red Lancewood on the back of the limbs.

10.01.2022 Anyone want to take a guess at what this is? Here's a hint for the locals; remember what cyclone Yassi did to Cardwell. It is also a somewhat international wood.

10.01.2022 Mark is making some progress on his work of art.

06.01.2022 Steady as she goes Captain.

06.01.2022 I'm making a lefty longbow this time, for @Glen Rohweder of Molleedooka Design. He did an awesome job of printing up some Flatline shirts so I hope to return his efforts in kind with an awesome bow. Going well so far.

05.01.2022 Hairy Oak, , , , , it's always the pieces with too many faults that look the best.

05.01.2022 A mate has just started his own take down Shrike and he's jumped in the deep end. This is a start on the outside layers of the riser. #flatline_bows #flatlinebows #archery #bowyer #recurvebow #traditionalbow #tradarchery #crazywoodwork #awesomewoodwork #functionalart #australianart

04.01.2022 My finger is all good and I've been shooting the Dreaming for several days now and I have to say it's the sweetest shooting bow I've made to date. Totally stoked. Keep in mind this is a 54 inch bow being drawn to 32 inches, NO stack, NO finger pinch, NO hand shock and it simply goes where you point it. Bow stats: Flatline Shrike, 55#@32" or 43#@28". Arrow weight; 9 grains per pound of draw weight.

04.01.2022 The fidelity bits.

04.01.2022 And in the oven she goes.

04.01.2022 Mark is thinking outside the room that the box is in.

03.01.2022 The greatest journeys are made up of small steps.

01.01.2022 Finally got my logs back from the mill. Cut into boards 13 mm / .5" thick This will be stacked and weighted then left for around two years to season.

01.01.2022 Got the string on today and glued the riser overlay on.

01.01.2022 Here's a pic that was supposed to be in the last post.

01.01.2022 Out of the form and cleaned up.

01.01.2022 2/3 of it stacked. Took a surprisingly long time.
