24.01.2022 The fearless Frenchman Eric Teboull and his rocket powered motorcycle have made history again, this time with a staggering 5.368 pass on the famous jet bike, su...rpassing Top Fuel Motorcycle legend Larry "Spiderman" McBride's nitro bike world record of 5.50 set in Valdosta, Ga. Teboul’s liquid hydrogen peroxide powered motorcycle holds rocket bike / jet bike world record by a wide margin. In this video from legendary Santa Pod Raceway, we interview Teboul prior to his attempt at drag racing history, get a ton of information and specs on his rocket powered bike, explore how the jet bike does not have a throttle and there is no shutting it off once the reaction starts, flashback to the rocket bike record blast of 5.58 that got more than 12 million views on the CycleDrag.com Youtube channel and get Teboul to compare a Rocket Bike vs. a Top Fuel Motorcycle, as we learn Teboul spent many years on a Nitro Bike as well. Even with a 1/2 mile to stop, Eric has a difficult time bringing the rocket bike to a standstill from 260 mph. The jet bike is deemed to light for a parachute like we see on Top Fuel Bikes and Nitro Harleys. 19.01.2022 Fifty three years ago today on the 26th August 1967, Southland-born Herbert James 'Burt' Munro made the motorcycling world sit up and take notice. It was the da...y he posted a world record for a Class S-A 1000cc motorcycle with an average speed of 184.087mph riding his legendary self-modified 1920 Indian Scout into the record books across the famed Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA. It's a record that still stands and it brought Burt, Invercargill and Southland to the attention of the world. While the world has changed dramatically in so many ways since that day, one thing remains the same: we are still enormously proud to stand beside his Authentic, Original and Legendary motorcycle still on display in our store, pay our respects and reflect on his determination, innovative spirit and his passion for speed. 16.01.2022 The HVDRA Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel Nitro Up North for 2020. In the current climate combined with state border restrictions, we feel t...hat we would not be able to put on the quality show that our spectators and racers have come to enjoy. This was not an easy decision to make and we are very saddened that we have not been able to produce a racing calendar for the 2020 season. We do however look forward to making it a massive one in 2021 and appreciate everyone’s continued support. HVDRA Committee
