14.01.2022 Due to the current burning of the Amazon I have made the decision to exclude beef from my food tours from this point on. Im not sure if youre aware that Brazils president, Jair Bolsonaro, upon taking office in January, gave farmers & miners free reign to burn & exploit the Amazons natural resources for business interests; one of the main culprits being cattle grazing & soy crops for feedlots. But the problem is not just Brazil. Beef production is wreaking havoc on our en...vironment worldwide, including Australia. Im aware that by excluding beef it may make me and/or my tours less popular but Im prepared to take this risk. I cannot simply comment on social media how sad and then do nothing. If I put financial interests & popularity first then I am no better than the greedy monsters who are behind this destruction of our glorious planet I hope that you, my followers, will support me in this #prayforamazonia See more

12.01.2022 This is a pic of the lovely ladies on my last Northcote tour. Although unintentional, it ended up being a ladies night & we had such an awesome time! This was our 2nd-last tasting of 6 & we were almost ready to explode. Here we re eating Turkish dessert... a traditional knafeh, freshly cooked & served warm with ice cream. Its crunchy on top, sticky in the middle & simply divine to eat! Im looking forward to this Friday nights tour. Want to come? 10.01.2022 I was delighted when I heard Matt Wilkinson was retuning to Brunswick East afetr closing Pope Joan. I havent tried Crofter Bar & Restaurant yet as it literally just opened, but Ill get there soon & let you know what I think. I got to know Matt when he opened a cafe under the apartment I was living in at the time due to a water leak from my place into his cafe. It turned out to be great for me as it was a chance to get to know him, right at the time I was just starting Flavo...urhood Tours and Matts advice was really helpful. RE. Crofter, from a food tour organiser perspective, there are pros & cons of another great foodie venue opening along the street where I run my tours... Cons: *I want to include them all, which do I choose? *Takes more time to plan the tour as there are there are more places to check out and people to speak to (the latter part also being a pro), plus I have to re-work timings whenever I change the tour Pros: *adds to the profile of the area *more reasons to visit and return to the area *adds to the variety & character of the area *more opportunities to mix up the tour & change it from time to time

01.01.2022 I really wanted to do a cooking class in Hoi An. In the end I did 2. This photo was taken on an organic farm, the very first in Hoi An. There are now 5! We explored the farm, learned about organic fertilisers & pesticides, picked some produce & then cooked it. It was lovely & the food so yum!
