25.01.2022 Who is ready for Crufts 2020? There is going to be live feed from the UK this week, so get onto it and be a home judge on some of the best dogs strutting their stuff! Might have to incorporate a drinking game too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-o9JdMAUUQ

24.01.2022 Xena the German Shepard feeling fabulous after a wash and a brush. As the name suggests, the German Shepherd originated in Germany in the late 1800s. The most intelligent, responsive and obedient local shepherd dogs in Germany were bred to create what is now known as the German Shepherd. This breed was responsible for herding sheep and protecting flocks from predators. They were not considered pets or companions, but rather servants for farmers. Their intelligence, speed, str...ength and keen sense of smell, made them the perfect choice as sheep herders. Although German Shepherds were considered strictly workers, rather then household pets, farmers did provide food, protection and shelter to the breed. By the beginning of World War I the German Shepherd was popular throughout Germany and quickly spread to other parts of the world. People loved German Shepherds for their loyal and couragous character. Due to the breeds reputation for being couragous and easy-to-train, German Shepherds were welcomed as police dogs and sight dogs for the blind. Their superb sense of smell and couragous character made the German Shepherd an ideal police dog. Their faithful observance to what is going on around them, along with their patience, landed them the role as leader to the blind. These outstanding qualities and characteristics make the German Shepherd a wonderful domestic companion, protector and friend. The breed is reserved with strangers at first, but warms up quickly. This characteristic makes them excellent watch dogs, especially for children. Its good to socialize them when they are young and to take them on long walks or runs all throughout their life.

20.01.2022 Today we had the beautiful Kodah, come in for a wash and blow out ( that is when all of the fluffy undercoat is blasted out with a warm dryer, and fluff flies everywhere, kind of like an out of control fairy floss machine)

13.01.2022 For those who are worried about travelling and getting "fined" for driving your dog to the groomers, don't fret! We have a pick up and drop off service for small dogs and cats. You can still get grooms done during these lock downs and also have it safely done, so that your dog doesn't have to get matted or a bit whiffy on the nose.

06.01.2022 Getting a blow wave

06.01.2022 While a lot of groomers have had to shut their doors during these uncertain times ( I won't be accepting dogs to my home currently) I am still grooming from Tue - Thurs from the Dandenong Veterinary Hospital, I have a wonderful facility to work from, and I work one on one with each dog and do a disenfectant and clean down between dogs. At this stage I do suggest going for a shortish practical cut ( because we really don't know what will be happening in the future, and also please keep up with brushing your dog during this time to avoid getting a matted and Knotty coat that will have to be shaved off.) If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.

06.01.2022 Some of the special doggos who have come in for grooms

05.01.2022 More bathing Beauties

03.01.2022 If you're a pet parent with an aversion to trimming your dog's nails, you're certainly not alone. In fact, many people are so reluctant to do the deed that they outsource it to their groomer or veterinarian. This approach is fine if you're in a position to make (and pay for) appointments as often as your dog needs her nails clipped. However, what often happens in these situations is that too much time passes between appointments, and the dog's nails get uncomfortably long. This can cause injury from a nail that catches on something or curls under and digs into her paw. You'd be surprised how many dogs end up in veterinary clinics with paw pain and other problems that could have been prevented with regular nail trims. All nail trims are $10, and can be booked in on short notice

02.01.2022 Another scruffy bum, so newly shorn ;)

02.01.2022 It's hard to believe what's happening around us, but it's time to address the new reality that's set in. As this global pandemic of Coronavirus breaks out we would like to assure our customers we are taking necessary measures to help prevent the spread. Flea bags K9 is committed to a 'business as usual' approach to the current situation. We are still open and operating Monday to Friday. We're keeping things local! Business as usual :)

01.01.2022 Before and after. Today we had a lovely Groodle come in for a bath and clip
