25.01.2022 What a great way to honour the father of the greenban movement Jack Mundey. His god-daughter entered the Archibald Prize with her moving portrait of the heritage and environment warrior. In July this year CFMEU Construction & General NSW announced a greenban in Jacks memory- on the state governments demolition plans of Willow Grove and St George’s Terraces. Makes sure you visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 26th September and vote for Jack in the people’s choice ...award. Without Jack Mundey, Sydney would be devoid of any treasured heritage.

22.01.2022 CULTURAL VANDALISM 'The Cumberland Hospital Heritage Precinct is a place of National Significance' While all eyes are on historic Willow Grove and St Georges Te...rrace, a tragedy is unfolding elsewhere in Parramatta, as the Light Rail cuts a swathe through the heart of the extraordinary Cumberland Hospital Heritage precinct. Gazetted on the State Heritage Register on the 2 April 1999, with its Female Factory and its Institutions listed in 2017 on the National Heritage Register, the route has gutted much of the botanic landscape along the historic Eastern Circuit to Factory Street. This includes trees and botanic plants of high significance which have been felled. It’s brutal and tragic to see, and unfathomable to understand why this tragedy is unfolding after Sydney Light Rail's disaster along Alison Road and Anzac Parade. No amount of green grass or replacement trees will address what can only be described as cultural vandalism on a grand scale. 14.01.2022 Edit: I've been made aware this is not the Parramatta Female Factory, it was actually the Roman Catholic Orphan School from 1843 until 1887.
11.01.2022 Make sure to visit the cheerful Sakura and Wisteria of our State Heritage Gardens, surviving without 3 years of funding, whilst bucket$ are being spent demolishing key Botanic Garden trees across the River in East Campus.
08.01.2022 Our National Heritage precinct needs inclusion with the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience. For example with this story of Danny Eastwood Aboriginal Art, the stolen generation and Parramatta Girls Home. https://www.abc.net.au//reconciliation-week-indig/12275450

01.01.2022 The Council is assessing a DA for 5 of the national heritage listed buildings within the Parramatta Female Factory and Institutions Precinct to be restored & used for a Startup Hub. Councillor Donna Davis writes Why would this be a good decision for the oldest intact female factory in our nation? Why these buildings when there are scores of other suitable buildings a stones throw away? ... Where is the vision for these buildings to be restored & incorporated into a destination just like Old Government House across the river? Too many questions & not enough answers. Thankyou PFFF for continuing to question and pursue the best outcome for our national and international heritage.
