10.01.2022 Dental care for pets Dr. Vincent brought in his dog Deni for a dental procedure! Deni has grade one dental disease. This is a generalised build up of plaque and tartar. It may just look like "dirty teeth" so why do we need to do this? Because if left unchecked, the plaque and tartar can advance under the gums and lead to irreversible dettachment of the tooth roots, gum infections and pain. ... Deni received a routine dental scale and polish under a general anaesthesia. She had a pre-anaesthetic blood test and dental x-rays. We use an ultrasonic scaler to clean all aspects of the teeth and under the gum line. Early prevention is key to maintaining good oral hygiene for your dog and cat. If you're concerned about your pet's dental health, book in for a check up with us! What can we do to maintain good oral hygiene at home? Stay tuned for our next post #vets #doggydentist #3032 #flemingtonvet #dentalxrays #veterinarydentistry #dogsofmelbourne #dogsofinstagram
