19.01.2022 We’d love for you and your networks to join us for Everyday Conversations Training! Everyday conversations training consists of two key elements focused on the prevention of family violence and violence against women. The training provides foundational understandings of the gendered drivers associated with men’s violence against women and how these drivers underpin violence supportive attitudes, beliefs and actions. The training is delivered using respectful and non-shaming ...learning approaches to encourage participants to explore and develop insight into the impacts of harm on individuals, workplaces and communities. The training also provides practical skills for bystander actions in everyday conversations that help to interrupt negative attitudes and encourage pivoting to positive nonviolent and non-blaming perspectives about family violence. Please use the attached flier to circulate to your networks and register your attendance on Eventbrite if you’re interested. Places are limited!! Register using the link in the Eventbrite location!

19.01.2022 Hello and welcome to our Tuesday Wellness Series by our Yoga & Meditation instructor - Chantelle Nicole Cleansing breath or lifted breath is another wonderful (gentle) pranayama (breath control exercise) that helps us release toxins and create a lightness of being physically, energetically and emotionally. This practice is particularly great to do first thing in the morning, as we have breathe more shallow through the night, and the body has accumulated toxins, thi...s helps us release and stagnant energy, therefore filling us with beautiful fresh Prana (life force energy) It is very relaxing, cleansing, releasing and invigorating, whilst connecting us into the subtle aspects of our breath. Please only participate in these practices if you are comfortable and feel able. If you are unsure, please check in first with your health care provider.

18.01.2022 As many of you know would know that our beloved Flemington Community Centre has served our community for over 60 years But unfortunately, the condition of the building has recently deteriorated and it’s just not safe to use anymore. In the new year we’ll begin the process of pulling it down ahead of works starting on the new Flemington Hub & Debneys Park Precinct project.... We’d love you to share your memories of the facility. Did you ever take a class there? Maybe you went to an event there? Or perhaps it was just somewhere where you hung out with friends after school? Tag your pics with #FCCandme and we’ll share them - your picture may even be lucky enough to feature somewhere in the new Flemington Hub! You can learn more about the why the centre is closing here: https://mvcc.vic.gov.au/share-your-memories/

18.01.2022 Creative Card Making Class Term Four (for registered participants) Week Seven... Hi All, This week’s card comes with seven attachments, along with card stock and envelope. The attachments are three strips of different sizes, a decorative shield type embellishment, a button, a piece of base paper and a greeting. Before constructing the card you need to cut the forked tongue into each end of the three strips. I have cut one sample for you to copy. Then curl up the ends slightly. Now cover your card with the base paper, framing it on your card stock. Use foam squares to raise the strips and stick them to the side of your card. You can spend some time playing with the arrangement of size and colour of the strips, decide which goes on top and what colour combination you like. I think I included a fourth strip to give you more options. Now using tape and foam squares attach the flowery shield to the centre right of the card. Tape will be needed to attach to the strips and foam squares, where you attach to the card. The button can now be stuck to the shield and the greeting fixed to the centre.

15.01.2022 Creative Card Making Class Term Four (for registered participants) Week Three... Hi everyone! This week’s card comes with ten attachments, along with coloured card stock and envelope. The attachments are three flowers of different sizes, a leaf, three diamantes, a piece of decorative card and two greetings. This card is pretty simple to construct. Tape the coloured square to your card and place the flowers and leaf in a pleasing arrangement. Then place a diamante in the centre of each flower. Add your greeting. Again I've given you two greetings to choose from. For added interest I've given the flowers some height by pressing down on their centres with the back of a pen or pencil while they are placed on a soft surface, such as your thigh. You could also colour the flowers with any available pencils or textas, or you could try a swipe of pink nail polish. I've also curved the leaf a bit, as you would curl ribbon for a gift

14.01.2022 Creative Card Making Class Term Four (for registered participants) Week Five... Hi everyone! This week’s card comes with fourteen attachments, along with card stock and envelope. The attachments are two flowers, four leaves, five diamantes, a rectangle of white card stock with a decorative window and scalloped edge, a greeting and dotty paper. Start by covering your card with dotty paper and trim as required. Next attach the white rectangle with the scalloped edge to the top, this could be centred and raised or stuck straight to the card and slightly lower to the base as in the example shown. The flowers are stuck to opposite corners of the window, with a diamante in the centre and the leaves tucked in. Additional diamantes are added, for extra bling, to the bottom right edge of the white card. Your greeting should be centred in the window.

12.01.2022 Hello lovely community from Chantelle Nicole! Today I have created a short practice for you to do in the evening. These techniques will support in letting go of your day and support us in the transition to go to sleep. A few handy tips for getting a restful night’s sleep can be found here at the sleep foundation web site.... https://www.sleephealthfoundation.org.au/tips-for-a-good-ni I will use a combination of Pranayam (breathing exercises) I have mentioned the progressive muscle relaxation exercise that i have filmed in a previous video that is also helpful for sleep so you can use that video. After these practices, if you still feel like you need more support there is a wonderful app that is free is called Insight Timer and that is brilliant to use for guided meditation, or to just simply listen to relaxation music before sleep. If you do have any technology in your bedroom, please make sure you switch it into flight mode before sleep. Enjoy! X
