22.01.2022 A bit of a short edit from my trip to the USA earlier in the year. So much to go through.

21.01.2022 I recently entered my drone video "Fragility" into the New York City Drone Film Festival. I wasn't confident I had what it took to get short listed and my lack of confidence was confirmed last week. Thats a NO! from them. Oh! well, putting yourself out there for judgement is a necessary evil to help you grow as a film maker. Rejection is never easy though. 20.01.2022 A few days after getting back from the US I was booked in to shoot this Video for JB. John had just got back from his US tour also. The brief from producer Kes...ter Sappho and director Nick McKinlay was one continuous drone shot with no cuts. To say it was a challenge goes without saying. We shot about 6 takes with John having to dry off each time before we reset. This take was about number 4 or 5 and it was the only time the sun had appeared all day. With ground support from Darren McCagh (Farmhouse Films) and Michael Haluwana (Aeroture) we managed to get the shot required without losing any equipment. My flying is not perfect throughout but I'm hoping most people won't notice. What a day it was. See more

10.01.2022 In July 2019 I'm teaming up with Rod Thomas to work a 14 day exploratory tour to some of Norway's most amazing Alpine regions. We are taking just two people. One position is already filled so if you want to tag along and learn pretty much one on one on how I approach, shoot, and edit my films then message me for more details. Video production is eclipsing photography as a marketable tool for most businesses these days so if you need fast tracking to the world of video then this will be the trip for you. There will be a fair emphasis on drones also.

09.01.2022 We have finally released "Paynes Find" the short film Myles Pollard and I created after a chat we had about an experience I had coming home from a holiday in Mo...nkey Mia. The story changed dramatically from my initial experience. In actual fact the film I wanted to make was far far darker than what we finished up with but having Myles's experience in the film industry it was made clear to me that making such a heavy film was no small undertaking. So with a bit of a reality check on board we set upon creating a short film with no budget and only the generosity of a small amount of backers and crew. I wasn't expecting the amount of commitment that was required by these people to make this all happen. With a nothing to lose attitude we wondered off to the stunning landscapes that surround the small Road House of Paynes Find. We wondered what the film should be titled and there where times when "Paynes Find" wasn't the name. Thankfully we stuck to the original concept and the name remained. I feel we have tarnished the little community around there forever but in all honesty Paynes Find is a hidden Gem in WA's Central West region. There are a number of people who without their support this couldn't of happened. It was such an amazing experience. I can remember the very first day of filming. Johnny Fairhead (1st AD) said who has the slate? Um! Ok so we used the cover of a white file as our slate. Then John at my request gave Dazza and I a lesson on what we were supposed to do as DOP's. Haha! all these Film School graduates around us thinking....who the fuck are these guys. Anyway the best training I reckon is on the job and we sure got that. Enjoy. Mike

07.01.2022 A project I have been working on with Light Artist, Bruce Munro and FORM. If you get the chance to visit Albany make sure you walk through the Field Of Lights, Avenue of Honour. It's a wonderful experience.

05.01.2022 Over 4 years of filming, on and off, gone into this edit following the build of super yacht "White Rabbit". A big thanks to Mark Stothard for contributing footage for this project for the times Daz and I couldn't get up for a shoot. The boat is amazing. Sea trials next and all the glamour shoots. I'm looking forward to filming this boat without an army of high vis technicians all over it.
