21.01.2022 2021 DYNO Incredible ease, control and versatility have given the Dyno a reputation as the ultimate all-rounder board. With a new outline and increased lift at ...the front, the new 2021 Dyno becomes even more versatile. It’s able to handle steeper sections on waves without nose-diving and also catch less when hammering through nasty chop. Go bump & jump, ride waves and upgrade your everyday windsurfing session to Maximum Fun. Check out all of the details here; https://bit.ly/337muH4

17.01.2022 So it is now official! The new Severne Philip Koster signature board, the PYRO, has been released. How does it fit into the range I hear you ask? Well I have no...w had a couple of sessions on the 83 and can give a few details of how it rides. Is it a proper wave board? - Yes absolutely! The rocker requested by Philip was to be fast for maximum jumping potential and quick acceleration and the Pyro delivers. As soon as the sail has wind in it you can lean back into the front strap and with a couple of quick pumps of the sail the Pyro will launch immediately. The Pyro is very, very mobile around the break and fast coming back in on a swell. The Pyro can be set to your preferences with thruster, Quad or Twin mode and it feels very much like some twin fins of recent years where-by if you push the tail flat across the top turn you will be able to get very skatey moves much like Philip prefers. I used it in quad mode and the bottom turn is very secure and maintains speed and momentum all the way through the turn. If you sail in slightly onshore to full onshore conditions, in full waves or more wind swell, the Pyro will get you going quickly with enough speed to push over the waves hitting you from the side angle and offer great riding for backside hits or full DTL turns. If you sail in more wind swell cross shore conditions but do not want a Dyno style board then the Pyro will fit in nicely as the fast wave board for less swell days but then give you the full wave option when the waves turn up. I see this board doing a great job in locations like the Gold Coast, Geraldton, Robe, Middleton type locations. The Pyro has its wide point around mast track and so the floating balance is very stable with no feeling of pushing the nose underwater if you like a fast tack. I felt quite floaty on the 83 and very stable in little wind when compared to my Nano v2 87. For my mind the the Nano v2 is a more reactive turning board offering instant micro adjustments to any turning arc and re-adjustment to the wave as required. The Pyro offers a more secure arc and loves to have an open face to turn off for large carving gauges or a fat lip to punch you back into your next bottom turn. For sailors not able to get to large wave venues often, I think the Pyro is going to be the board of choice for most all round conditions especially those with a jumping bias or needing quick acceleration to avoid onshore wave sections. Especially if you don't have a Dyno for the lighter wind locations. Bigger riders will love the larger sizes -93, 99, 105 for carrying bigger sails and early planning. The Nano v2 is the supreme board for down the line wave riding in great waves from head high or bigger, the Mako is the big wave performer and the Pyro will go everywhere most of us get to sail and give you an awesome days sailing. I find I really get to grips with new boards after a couple of months of riding, as I am just an average rider, and I have a feeling this will be my new favourite board very soon. The bad news is there are not many of them available this summer as two thirds of the boards coming have been pre-sold.

01.01.2022 The Future... The Class has had a massive push to attract the next generation to the Class. With unprecedented numbers of younger people at the 2020 Nationals -... both boys and girls - we couldn't be happier with the progress we are making. The best bit is that many of them are already testing the front end of the fleet. So Quinn and Grace receive financial assistance to the 2020 Worlds for their outstanding efforts this year. The Youth Scholarship is supported by the WCAA and Greg Johns and the team #Windgenuity.
