24.01.2022 To all of our inspirational educators...you are all such amazing, dedicated, selfless and compassionate souls. Your strength and determination to rise to a chal...lenge is something to be admired. We see you and how hard you all work. We appreciate you all so much. To all of our beautiful families thank you for staying strong and supporting us.

24.01.2022 We are a part of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots Program!! We want our children to feel empowered to make a difference, to be enthusiastic dreamers who can turn their ideas into reality! How do we do that? How do we ensure a future with possibilities? ... It starts by surrounding them with nature, by helping them to see that their actions can have a direct influence over their surroundings. We are excited to have become a part of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Program! We are eager to utilise the beautiful resources sent to us, and join the ‘global network of young people taking action to improve our world’. https://rootsandshoots.org.au/

22.01.2022 Happy Easter! Did you know that Cadbury’s make 500 million Creme eggs every year! Well all week our little friends have been making their own Easter hats and eagerly parading them around their yard! They have been creating their own Easter decorations and revelling in the fun of going on Easter egg hunts! We have had little bunnies hopping and dancing around... all with big beautiful smiles. It has been such a wonderful time to watch the children come together and share th...eir stories of their family traditions. We would like to wish you all a wonderful and safe long weekend! See more

22.01.2022 A Celebration of their learning... We feel so privileged to be a part of these incredible children’s journey of learning throughout their time with us. Some of our children from Biraban and Guraki celebrated their achievement as they eagerly performed a musical number for their families, and proudly stepped forward to receive their portfolio. We are proud to see how they have grown, matured and now prepare for their transition to school. Thank you to all the families who attended and made this night so memorable for our little stars.

22.01.2022 Bunnies, bunnies everywhere! Guraki were captivated as Mr Killian showed us how to make balloon bunnies! With a twist here, and a twist there it was no time a...t all before we had lots of little bunnies bouncing everywhere... the fun continued as they were hidden around the room and we went on a bunny search! What a way to celebrate and welcome the long Easter weekend!

19.01.2022 Have you ever wanted to learn a second language... we are learning French with Madame Marie! Learning a second language as a child has been proven to have a positive impact on their overall development. Our children at Fletcher Early Learning Centre eagerly greet Madame Marie every Monday and Friday as they become immersed in learning the French language and all about the French culture, traditions and lifestyle. Through their play, group discussions, stories, games and songs the children are activating a higher level of thinking. Research has proven that learning a second language supports problem solving skills, promotes critical thinking and enhances their listening skills! At the moment our children are revisiting counting in French, and learning their colours through many different games and songs!

17.01.2022 It all started with a story... which turned out to be one of our very favourites! Our Pippita children have been heading out on their own ‘Bear Hunts’ and now ...the excitement has grown. It is amazing to watch their imaginations grow, for their confidence to develop and their excitement for storytelling as they share their discoveries. Now these young souls are retelling ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ by Michael Rosen in their own way... collaborating to create one page at a time. Swish, swish, swish and long wavy grass they chimed as they imitated their Educator. Creativity comes in all different forms!

16.01.2022 Are you jumping into the week with as much enthusiasm and excitement as Oreo? Did you know that rabbits binky when they are happy; bouncing and doing a twist in mid-air! Little Oreo has spend all weekend stretching her legs, exploring and now she’s eager to get back to see everyone. Oreo has only been with us for a week but already she is revelling in the care, attention, gentle pats and hugs from the children. Welcome to the family Oreo!

16.01.2022 As our children engage in physical play they are being mentally stimulated, and therefore supported as they begin to build connections between the nerve cells and their brain. We can support the children to build strong core strength, but also gain greater coordination, control and an awareness over their entire bodies...from their fingertips to their toes! The play experiences implemented are intentionally planned by our educators with careful consideration of this, drawing from the child’s interest to capture their attention. After all... we learn best when we feel relaxed, safe, supported and of course encouraged to just have fun!

12.01.2022 Pure joy! When given the opportunity to explore our babies are building positive connections with their environment, with one another, with their educators, and in turn find their place within our community. Some explored the shaving cream with a finger tip, and others became completely immersed in the experience... but the faces of concentration, of inquiry and exhilaration speak for themselves!

11.01.2022 We are so excited for our raffle at 2.30pm today!!!! We have over 70 amazing prizes to be won!!! All profits will go towards Oliver and his family and we will be drawing it live today at 2.30pm.... Please join in the fun by logging onto your Facebook to watch.

10.01.2022 What did you do today? We went on a picnic! The children in the Garden Bugs room gathered around to help plan, to decide what to take in their picnic basket... Have you ever tried an apple sandwich? Well today that’s what we packed, along with cake, pineapple, toast and lettuce sandwiches! Our Kiwi fruit didn’t quite make it as it was so delicious Tolani ‘ate’ it straight away. With the perfect position chosen and the blanket layed out we were ready to relax down in the com...munity garden, under the shade of the trees and the happy chatter of our chickens. What a way to start the week! See more

09.01.2022 ‘Spring gardens’ With subtle prompts the children are transported to a place of creativity. They collaborate, explore and make connections to their own learni...ng as they pursue their interests. It is always amazing to watch these young minds delve into their imaginations, and together embark on their own storytelling as they create their ‘spring gardens’. See more

09.01.2022 I think I found it called our Guraki friends as they searched for the Rosemary amongst the garden beds. Following our minute silence on Remembrance Day the children set out in search of Rosemary sprigs to share amongst their friends, and to wear proudly for the day. With a piece for reference they kept comparing, looking closely at the leaves for their shape, size and colour. With some plants that looked similar we had to also use our sense of smell! After searching and searching we finally found it! Now with each visit to our community garden the children are becoming more observant and more connected to nature as they continue to classify and embark on their ‘plant hunts’.

09.01.2022 Fletcher Early Learning and Montessori Centre is hosting a raffle and are looking for donations for our raffle. The raffle will be held at the centre and drawn on Monday 21st December 2020. All the money raised from this raffle will be going straight towards little Oliver who attends our centre and his family. We would like to offer as much support to this family at this time and are hoping for your help. Oliver is only 15 months old and recently it was discovered that he ...had a tumor on his brain. Little Oliver has already been through 2 brain surgeries and will need to stay in hospital for a few weeks. He will soon need to start radiotherapy in Sydney. We would like to offer Oliver and his family as much support as possible during this difficult time. If you would require any further information or require a letter for your business in order to donate please contact the centre on 49 514 202 or email us at [email protected] Thank you!

04.01.2022 Whether there’s a little ray of sunshine or rain our curiosity for the natural world is always reflected through our play. While it rained our Pippita friends couldn’t go in search of their own insects, so they explored them in an alternative way... through creative expression! Some friends were in awe of the marks they could print on the page, or eager to share they knowledge as they used singulars words to describe their features. For some it was the sensation of feeling the paint squish between their fingers. Each child approaches these opportunities in their own way, giving them the chance to develop their own drive to actively learn about their environment. What insects can you find in your garden?

03.01.2022 Spring is in the air, and our toddler friends have welcomed the sunshine with open arms. For weeks they have cared for their seedlings, and protected them from the cool winter air. Now with gentle hands and great excitement they planted their flowers, and one by one their gardens were transformed. These beauties inspired others to paint the natural world around them. With such intent, purpose and freedom the children filled their hearts with a little more love!

01.01.2022 Look at how we have grown! For National Tree Day some of our families adopted a tree and planted it in our community garden. With such care they dug the hole, placed their plant and covered its roots with the soil. After just 4 months of care, love and watering our enthusiasts gardeners have been able to watch them grow. All of our children have shown such love and appreciation for our blooming gardens. With such exposure to the natural environment we can instil sustainable practises into the lifestyle of our future.
