08.01.2022 A little bit of physio wisdom for a Wednesday. Our physios often use Functional Movement Screening (FMS) to assess clients. FMS is a method of looking at how well someone performs movements that are important for everyday activities and athletics pursuits and then picking up movement asymmetries. Your physiotherapist can then use the information gained from the screen to prescribe exercises to correct asymmetries between sides of the body and improve the quality of movement.... This then helps to reduce injury recurrence or prevent injury from happening in the first place. The other obvious benefit of improved movement is enhanced athletic performance. 03.01.2022 Following direction from SA Health last night, it is now mandatory for single use surgical masks to be worn at all times by anyone entering a healthcare facility (including staff, patients, family of patients, support workers etc). Cloth masks are NOT ALLOWED to be worn by anyone. For all clients attending an appointment at Fleurieu Physio, including 1:1 consultations or group exercise sessions, please bring your own surgical mask to wear. Initially if you do not have a surgi...cal mask, we will provide you with one at reception' SA Health have also implemented compulsory QR check in when attending a healthcare facility. For FP&W clients who have a smartphone, please download the mySA GOV app on your phone and when you arrive for your appointment, open the app and you will be prompted to scan the QR barcode on display at our reception counter.
