George Stelling from Quadrillion Partners shared a case study of a complex manufacturing client with 6 global factories, 20 product lines, 65,000 SKUs and dozens of continuous flow manufacturing lines. They had issues with delivery to their clients following changes to their factory make up. Based on all the factors FlexSim was used to make the most effective business decisions for the client including faster strategic planning, Capex decisions and allows them to make operational decisions as well. #Quadrillion #FlexSim

08.01.2022 With so many new hospitals being built around Australia and around the world a new complexity a new area of risk management is emerging. The migration of patients and equipment between old and new hospitals is a challenge as there are so many factors to get right. We worked with the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne to help plan how many staff were required to move nearly 150 patients in one 8 hour shift. Here is the model showing the 2 hospitals, which were located nex...t door to each other, with the patients being moved in beds. The patients in this video are big people but the premise is the same. Some of the key issues covered included: The hospitals were drawn as wire outlines to make them easier to see The elevator sequences were determined and included in the simulation to ensure that they matched the real life scenarios Different patients required specific care plans, i.e. ICU patients required additional support, so all this information was included in the data Every action is registered as data for analysis 3D visuals allow stakeholders to clearly understand what is happening The hospital successfully moved 143 patients in just under 8 hours.
