13.01.2022 The charming comedy 'Chicken' by Alana Hicks who was awarded 'Best Direction in an Australian short film' at #flickerfest2020 has been delighting audiences across Australia as part of the #flickerfest2020tour. Alana Hicks chatted with FilmInk on the eve of the films premiere at Flickerfest Bondi back in January about her inspiration. 10.01.2022 Flickerfest will be bringing the short film love to Home of the Arts on the Gold Coast next week as we present the best of Aussie shorts on the big screen including some fabulous films with local Gold Coast Connections! 'Orpheate' director Ruby Bell, currently in town working on Baz Luhrmann's 'Elvis' production, will be there to introduce her film screening alongside 'It's Christmas', starring Gary Sweet and produced by Kyle McCallion who grew up locally in Upper Coomera, 'F...eatherweight' directed by Bond University Film and TV graduate Sam Lara and 'Wine Lake' written by and starring Ailis Logan who developed the film over the two years she studied at The Gold Coast Warehouse Workshop Acting Studio. We look forward to sharing these and many other fab Aussie shorts with Gold Coast film-loving audiences next week with special thanks to Screen Queensland and Screen Australia.
