18.01.2022 Flightscope Aviation is hosting the Razzle Dazzle BBQ and 2020 Navigation Rally on 12 December 2020. The navigation rally is a flying competition to be held within the Archerfield training area and everyone is invited. We would like to especially encourage all pre-RPC or current RPC students to attend and test their visual navigation skills! All are invited, even if you choose not to enter the navigation rally. Please click here: http://razzledazzle.flights...copeaviation.com.au Cost for competition entry: $150 per team, free for BYO aircraft Starts: navigation briefing starts at 11am on the day, flying starts at 12pm The Razzle Dazzle BBQ will also be taking place during the afternoon, so please come join in the fun. Note that there will not be any alcohol while there is flying taking place. Here's how the competition works. On the day, all teams will be given the same navigation route within the Archerfield training area, containing visual reference points for you to fly to. You will have a nominated ground speed. The more accurate your flying between the reference points, and the accuracy of your ground speed for the flight, the more points you win. There will be prizes for first place and runner-up. It is NOT permitted to use any GPS onboard the aircraft during the exercise (and if you think we won't know...). Those who require, or would like to have, an instructor on board will have a co-pilot who will not assist with the navigation component of the exercise. You have the option to ask the instructor to fly the aircraft and respond to your verbal heading, altitude or speed changes while you navigate. Please also note that we will be strictly following Queensland Health directions regarding COVID-19.
