24.01.2022 Guess whaaaaatttt!!!! We've got a new website!!! Woohooo!! After working away on it in the evenings and any spare second that we had, Chay and I are ready to unveil our BRAND NEW WEBSITE!!! I don't really like to say that it's finished because websites are an ever evolving process, so we'll still be working on it, there's some more pages to add and I want to make some changes to the code to make it even prettier. 23.01.2022 I'm listening to this podcast today while I'm working. It's soooo good!!!! Each episode is an interview with a successful entrepreneur about how they got started. So far I've listened to Sara Blakely (Spanx) who paid her friends to go to her first stockist and buy her product so her stockist would think they were really popular, and Kate & Andy Spade (Kate Spade handbags) who didn't make a profit in the first 3 years and now have a net worth of around $200 million!

20.01.2022 Whats the difference between branding and a logo? There seems to be so much confusion about what branding is. Logos, branding, and brand identity. I hear people using these words interchangeably to describe different things - no wonder there is so much confusion! So I've written this article to give a basic overview of the differences and hopefully help to clear up some of the confusion!

19.01.2022 I've just posted a new article on our (brand new!!) website, and it's all about brand identity style guides!! What are they? Do you need one? How much do they cost? I have two style guides scheduled in for next week and that got me thinking about them. Brand identity style guides are SO important to ensure brand consistency and ensure that graphic designers can get it right the first time! At design school and at agencies that I worked at previously, I was taught that whenever you start working with a new client with an established brand identity, the first question you ask is can you send me your style guide? Shockingly even some of the biggest companies I have worked with haven't had one, which makes it so much harder to design effectively and ensure brand consistency. -Flik

16.01.2022 Wow! What a story! I remember how scared I was when I started my business, and I had a part-time job and some savings, I don't think I would have had to courage to do it if I'd had to fund it with a credit card! But good on her the gamble obviously paid off.

10.01.2022 An interesting article about the legalities of reposting other people's insta posts. To summarise, it says you should ask for permission. A lot of my clients ask me if it's OK to do it and I always struggle to give them an answer. The general message I keep hearing in my business communities is something along the lines of "yes it's a murky area but everyone does it so why not". I used to do it in the past, but once I knew better I decided to stop. As a designer I have to be ...really mindful of only using legally sourced images when I'm doing work for clients because if I don't my clients could end up getting sued! (and yes this does happen!) I think it sends the wrong message if I'm re-posting images. Even if I was to get permission the viewer isn't necessarily going to realise that I've done that so I think I will just continue to not do it altogether. - Flik xx See more
