23.01.2022 My husband is addicted to painting, another one he just finished. Chambers Gorge Northern Flinders 60cm x 60cm

20.01.2022 Yesterday we continued to landscape the grounds around the around the hall. We have installed a wattle and wire fence to replicate one evident in old photos o...f the hall. It is intended to tie in all the new infrastructure to the hall. We also gave the hall a mighty good clean as it was sorely needed after all the work that has happened there after the cellar renovations. #historicbeltana #beltana #townhall #landscaping #heritage #flindersranges #flindershistorictown #northernflindersranges #outbackSA #oneoutback Outback Communities Authority #droughtcommunitiesfunding

16.01.2022 Up track a little....

15.01.2022 The Watchtower has been leaking through the roof, causing dry rot in the flagpole and internal structure. This has been happening for YEARS - way before we boug...ht the pub. The water runs through all 6 floors and we need to stop this - the damage is so detrimental. Unfortunately works on a 122 year old, 5 storey high watchtower are not easy or cheap. The estimated cost to save the Watchtower is $250,000-$300,000 but will result in the watchtower being accessible for daily guided tours, a viewing platform in the ceiling space and other upgrades to access spaces. Simply put, the public will be able to go through the entire building - a unique tourist attraction for the town, the Southern Flinders Ranges & South Australia. The project team currently consists of Stephen Richter for SJ Cheesmans, Peter Campbell from Midstate Hardware and Sam Gadaleta from Gadaleta Steel Fabricators. WE NOW NEED MONEY & HELP TO MAKE THIS PROJECT A REALITY. Our 1st target is $40,000 - to waterproof the roof and start the internal repairs. We need assistance with: - Finding and applying for grants - Fundraising - Marketing & Social Media - Spreading the word If you believe you can help in any way please email [email protected] or call the Hotel & ask for Kylie 08 8632 2929 or make an appointment to see me. Thanks in advance...
