24.01.2022 No rest for the wicked. Raging cold but deliveries must still come. As usual the lovely Maria has looked after me with a beautiful custard filled bun. Lots of alcohol in that custard though! That will kill the sore throat. Won't be driving for an hour lol! Yumm!! Demand is high and my new 60 pullets are not laying yet so if orders are slow to be filled I must appologise. Hopefully in 3-5 weeks things will be better. Cheers xxxxx

18.01.2022 First of the Easter chickens is out. An Araucana cross so a good chance of getting blue eggs (note my confidence of her being a hen lol). She apologises for her bad fluff day but is still damp from just being hatched and hasn't had time to floof her down yet. Should be a blue/grey colour when fully feathered.
17.01.2022 Another delivery and another morning snack of Tatas. Though of course to the amusement of my lovely customer I have been saying it wrong. It is more like Tardats. This could also be wrong but much closer. It is good to be learning Italian words that are not swear words or words for the unmentionable parts of anatomy lol!

14.01.2022 Ah! The delights of delivering eggs to my Italian cooks when Christmas baking is in full swing. I must be the taste tester. Got to test two different baked sweets today. Yummy! My eggs are getting put to good use!
12.01.2022 Once again I deliver eggs to the lovely Maria and I get sent home with a beautiful piece of coffee syrup cake. The instructions were to eat the cake on my own, tell the kids to bugger off and leave me alone for 5 minutes. So I cut a slice but while the kids were buggering off they ate the rest Oh well, it was good while it lasted.....Yumm!

06.01.2022 After months of slacking off the girls are laying like troopers. 400 eggs processed this weekend. Put your orders in, they will be filled!
05.01.2022 Well I knew the heat would reduce egg numbers a bit but I am disappointed to say we are on half lay. Hopefully temporary but I won't have eggs until next week as I have customers on backorder already. Have air conditioning on the girls and they are chilling in the cool having their Christmas break perhaps if I wave an axe at them they will get busy again!
05.01.2022 Doing a test run in the incubator and all seems to be going well. Standard sized crossbred backyard layer chickens due to hatch 29th march. Good chance of getting a blue egg layer. Chicks will be $5 unsexed day old. Great Easter gift if you can keep them warm under lights in a brooder for the first 3 weeks.
03.01.2022 42 Degrees at Flinders View Eggs. 6pm and still 42 and climbing. But the swampy air con is doing a great job in the layers shed. I am supposed to have free range girls but there is no way they were moving out from under the cool air!
