16.01.2022 Hi All, Just a reminder that training tonight is on STURT oval and you can park in Carpark 13. If you are unable to attend, please let Shan or Rocky know, and don't forget to QR code when you arrive.... See you all tonight!

15.01.2022 Hi All, We have once again been offered a 12 week Strength and Conditioning Program through the Uni. It will be every Thursday night, 6.30pm-8pm, starting the 20th of February and will once again be taken by the awesome Alex! Strength and Conditioning help you to strengthen supporting muscles, even out muscle imbalances, increase mobility, correct posture, stabilize joints, learn new movement patterns, enhance coordination and peripheral skills. If you are someone who is inju...ry prone or want to reduce injuries, I highly recommend this to you. Due to the size of the Cross Fit studio, we can only accept 20 people. If you'd like to take part, either message or text me :-) Cheers Rocky

14.01.2022 Club Statement Flinders Flames WFC has, on the recommendation of Football South Australia, cancelled all trainings this week. Flames is not just a football club, but a family. This decision is based not just for the safety of our members and their families, but in the best interests of the general public as well.... Whilst we love the game of Football, training is not an essential part of day to day life and avoiding such a large gathering will minimise the spread of Covid-19 within our community. I would like to make it very clear that no player or official at FFWFC has been diagnosed with Covid -19, this is what I believe is the correct course of action in this current climate. If we can all make it our personal responsibility to have minimal contact with other individuals, we have the potential to reduce infection rates and save lives. I will monitor the situation daily and will rely on information provided to me by the relevant bodies and based on this will make a determination on when training will recommence. I understand that not everyone will be happy with my decision however it has been made with everyones best interests at heart. Any further updates will be provide on all our social media channels. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact me. Regards, Raquel Zundel President FFWFC

10.01.2022 #womenshealthweek Flinders’ Flames Women’s Football (Soccer) Club. Supportive, successful and a family that supports commitment to health and wellbeing. Club... name: Flinders Flames Women’s Football Club Year established: Flinders University had a women’s soccer team in 1997, however, the league soon folded. In 2000, the women’s soccer team was re established at Flinders Uni and named Flinders Flames. What is the best thing about playing a team sport? The absolute best thing about playing a team sport is the friendships that you make along the way. The encouragement and the support from teammates both on and off the pitch is unlike anything else. Throughout the good and the bad times, there is someone to back you up and cheer you on, as demonstrated during COVID when we kept in contact using social media for group fitness, weekly drinks, team challenges and support groups. Another thing is seeing the success of other teams around the club and how happy and excited people are when they are able to share that success with their teammates. How does your club encourage its players to stay healthy? The club encourages its players to stay healthy in a variety of different ways. The main one is having a proper recovery session on a Monday night after a hard game on the Sunday to ensure we maintain our fitness not hinder it. The coaches really make sure that we know how to rest and recover our bodies and take care of any other niggles that may cause problems. The club also encourages us to keep fit and healthy outside of training and games by offering us extracurricular activities, such as strength and conditioning, being able to build up strength and put it to use in trainings and games is such an asset. Having an ex-Socceroo in Joel Porter our Head Coach, has also been beneficial as he has a wealth of knowledge and experience he passes down to us. What are some of the key elements that have contributed to your club’s success? The amount of dedication that everyone puts into their part within the club; from the committee, to the coaches down to the players and spectators. Everyone is willing to help out, be that running the lines for a 90-minute game, canteen for only an hour, travelling a hour out of town to cheer on another division, everyone puts in so much effort to be able to showcase what a brilliant club we are. Players in div one are friends with the players in div six who they might not see all the time due to training and game times but when we are able to catch up and have a chat; it means the world. We have a saying at our club that surmises us perfectly, Flames Family, it reflects the genuine love we all have for the game as well as each other, everyone who steps foot on the pitch every Sunday is so proud to be a flame.
