24.01.2022 March 31st marked the annual Transgender Day of Visibility Yesterday and everyday we recognise and celebrate our trans and gender diverse classmates, friends, family, peers, and club members. We are incredible thankful and recognise all that the gender diverse community has and continues to contribute to all communities, progressive politics, and the ongoing struggle for queer and intersectional rights. While yesterday was about recognition and celebration of all... transgender and gender diverse people we must now continue to call on our University as well as Federal and State Governments to ensure our campuses and communities are safer and more accessible for trans and gender diverse people. To ensure that all the awareness raised from yesterday does not go to waste, cisgender people (those who’s gender identity matches their sex assigned at birth) must continue to educate themselves on the issues impacting the trans and gender diverse community and how they can be a better allies for all transgender and gender diverse people for now and the future. As a club we are committed to improving our allyship with the transgender and gender diverse community and will continue to advocate for progressive change to work towards ensuring a government that actively creates a safe and empowering country for all transgender and gender diverse people. If there are any questions or suggestions that you have for our club to ensure we are being progressive allies please message our page

24.01.2022 Today marks 30 years since the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody and still the same old story continues - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people being neglected and murdered within our prisons with no justice. In the last 30 years, 471 First Nations people have lost their lives to the justice system, and this number is only rising. We need to act now and we need to support rising the criminal age from 10 to 14. Labor Club members earlier today at the National Day of Action: Stop Aboriginal Deaths in Custody rally!

23.01.2022 We're so excited to hear that Nadia Clancy is running for southern suburbs seat Elder in the next State Election! We had so much fun campaigning for Nadia last year and cannot wait to be out campaigning for her again to ensure that Flinders students, especially those in Elder, have progressive representation in their State Parliament <3

22.01.2022 The Flinders Uni Labor Club would like to wish everyone a Happy Transgender Day of Visibility! As a club with many transgender and gender diverse members, we strive to make all of the spaces we’re involved in as safe and inclusive as possible. As allies it is up to all of us to ensuring the safety and visibility for all members of the transgender and gender diverse community. We also pay our respects to all First Nations transgender and gender diverse people and recognise th...eir importance and sovereignty in our communities. We also acknowledge the deep roots that gender diversity has in many First Nations traditional cultural practices that existed long before colonialism. We hope you all had an amazing day and if you are in need of any support please don’t hesitate to reach out to us or to contact any of the communities at this site: http://www.transhealthsa.com/trans-specific-groups/

07.01.2022 While we enjoyed everything that FUSA had to offer for R U Ok? Day and understand the importance of supporting student mental health and wellbeing, we also joined International Student activists on their campus walk. 02.01.2022 Standing alongside our classmates in the Flinders University Student Paramedics Australasia club, part of the next generation of ambos, to join forces with folk from all across SA - calling on the Liberal State Government to urgently and substantially increase funding to our Ambulance services and address the ramping crisis. Ramping is the practice of requiring paramedics to continue treating patients in ambulances outside of hospital to reduce bed usage inside hospitals. Thi...s results in members of our community not receiving the healthcare they need while others are left waiting for ambulances stuck outside our hospitals. This is bad policy - bad for our ambos and bad for our communities. It can and must stop Check out Ambulance Employees Association for more information on how you can support ambos in our state!

02.01.2022 Today we met with student unionists from across the state outside Senator Stirling Griff’s office calling on Centre Alliance to vote against the Governments cuts to higher education in the form of the so-called Job-Ready Graduates Package. Huge shoutout to FUSA Education Officer and club member Benika for speaking out so passionately against the legislation at today’s event!

01.01.2022 Fantastic to see FUSA standing up for our rights and welfare as students and showing the impact of genuinely progressive student unionism and representation Please sign their petition below
