24.01.2022 This exhibition stand was the last job l did under my Funnel Design brand early 2008 contracting to the stand designers/builders; Expo Solution Group. The size and scale were epic, and as best l know, it was the first time an Australian company had attempted to build a full fabric exhibition stand at this scale. The wall panels themselves were 2400mm high and up to 3600mm wide. The graphics were huge layered photoshop files with vector overlays that almost broke my compute...r (and me) due to the size and complexity of each artwork file. 24.01.2022 I found this little beauty when digging through some old files yesterday and wanted to share The designs are circa 2002 (more than 15 years old); and were created when I worked for a company called Acumen Design Sadly, this is not a Flint project, but it has certainly sparked great memories of a past project that I took great pride in. The design itself was part of a Visitor Centre in Warnambool that told the story of Victoria’s ship wrecked coastline. Clearly inspired by t...he grunge era of design, no doubt Raygun in particular. The deconstructed text represented the ferocity and merciless nature of a shipwreck, fragmenting a ship, and indeed the lives of all involved The layering, detail, and complexity of messaging within the graphics themselves is probably what I enjoy most. It was certainly breaking the mould with regard to exhibition and museum design at the time so kudos to my bosses and the client for having the vision and the bravery to let me explore creatively. This classic colour combination acted as a key building block when we set out to design a high end, exclusive appliance brochure for Artusi. To further leverage the premium messaging, our layouts included large areas of negative space with clean, refined typography and black on black image blocks. 13.01.2022 It’s rare these days to be given full creative reign to develop all encompassing exhibition graphics with minimal involvement from the client That’s what happened on this job for Rollease Acmeda; where we worked with exhibition stand designers Brand Dimensions to devise a very sophisticated and contemporary graphics strategy to wrap the exhibition stand with black on black voile graphics and deconstructed typography The design itself was extremely bold; where by the deco...nstructed text conveyed a key brand message with a high tech, precision focus. We were particularly proud of this piece of work given it was pushed through in a couple of short (Long) weeks, running solely on adrenaline, enthusiasm, and of course design instinct to deliver something spectacular and without doubt; a show stopper. The fact that our graphics elevations match the end images go a long way to demonstrate the simple fact that we understand our craft.
