22.01.2022 2 week promade infill - before and after pics - that fluff I’m falling in love with these! Also, notice those dirty micro brushes? That’s from eyeliner on the bottom eye line seeping up to the top lashes. It’s so important to use an extension-safe lash shampoo in between infills to keep the lashes clean, otherwise dead skin build up, other debris and oils from skin or facial products can negatively affect retention, and quite frankly can look nasty ... It’s still fine to use eyeliner on the bottom, but if you want to maximize the life of your extensions you should always thoroughly cleanse - daily! 19.01.2022 Now THIS is what we like to see after nearly 2 and a half weeks They still look like a full mega set ! Thanks Ella for taking pics for me...... Now, not everyone is a good candidate for mega volume, and even with the advancement in the lash industry we can’t always give you the volume or length you desperately want unless you’re willing to risk permanent damage to your lashes. And they’ll end up looking messy and ridiculous anyway due to not being able to hold the weight Ella has strong natural lashes with some decent length and a slightly above-average lash count, so we could safely apply this voluptuous set for her. What is mega volume exactly? Well, I use one of the lightest lashes created - the 0.03mm lash, and make fans of up to 16 lashes in that single fan (we call this 16D 0.03). With Ella’s, I used 14D 0.03mm fans that had been pre-handmade (these are called promade) so they are consistently fluffy and should stay open for the duration of the life of your extensions. When creating handmade fans at the time of service, the fans can vary in dimension - they will all be different -some may be wider than others and some may be more narrow or closed up, but as long as you’re not overloading the natural lash or using too much glue, then this is 100% safe and can generate a host of completely different looks. I personally love both promade and handmade and they both have their place in the lash world :) Generally, this is what retention on mega volume should be like if you’re looking after your lashes correctly. Infills are recommended every 2-3 weeks to keep them in check. Or quite often, I have clients coming back only when they’re ready for a full set again. It’s personal choice :) But remember, always book ahead so you don’t miss out on a spot!

06.01.2022 READ THIS! Chances are one of your hair care or facial products may contain silicone or oils. Silicone creates a near impermeable barrier, which negatively impacts effective adhesion of the glue and retention of the extensions. ... A simple drip of water onto your natural lash when rinsing shampoo/conditioner can adversely affect how your lashes are going to last! A good sign of this is that the extensions keep popping off during application. No amount of priming or cleansing will help this. Silicone is like a stage 5 clinger ! As for oil, just don’t. Get rid of it! Oil will break the glue down and impact retention. Both of these products are easily transferred from finger to eye, so unless you’re a master at not getting your face wet at all when washing your hair, or not touching your face for hours and hours after using an oil based product, ditch them! At least whilst you’re planning on having lash extensions. Ensure you switch to products that don’t contain oils and especially silicone well before getting your lashes done - weeks if possible! Still having retention problems? If you’ve got naturally oily skin, then chances are your retention will be poor no matter what. And that just plain sucks BUT you can use an extension safe lash cleanser twice daily, which will minimize the fall out (or rather, off!) and help keep that oil at bay. If you’re still having issues, then the extensions may have been poorly applied. Always do your research when finding a lash tech ! If most of the extensions have fallen off within 5-7 days, that is NOT normal and you should get in touch with the tech that applied them. It could be a number of things as mentioned above; poor application or glue that has lost its adhesive properties or conditions that were not ideal (humidity and temp - which is out of our control sometimes!). Watery eyes at time of application will also affect retention. Was a little tricky working with Lara’s lashes having had a lash lift about 5-6 weeks prior Tossing up whether or not to add premades in my service lineup.... I’m still not sold Will have to see how the retention goes! What do you all think? Note: This is not a completely full set
