21.01.2022 As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rapidly evolve, we wanted you to know that we've followed the advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Australian Department of Health and have adapted our systems accordingly to allow us to continue to operate as normal. Our primary concern is for the health and wellbeing of our staff, subcontractors, customers, their families and you, our local community. Our intent is to keep our employees safe and healthy while cont...inuing to do what we do best provide a smooth transition for you . We are fortunate to have a number of systems in place that allows us to efficiently operate during times like this. Systems such as our paperless administrative system, internet cloud management programs and of course, our online and social presence, allow us to continue our day-to-day operations while reducing in-person contact to slow the spread of the virus. It also allows us to plan and put in place processes and practices for further stages of this pandemic. As clients, you can feel confident that our business will continue to function as normal, but in the safest possible way for our community. Wishing you all full health.

09.01.2022 Hardwood flooring is a great way to create timeless pizzazz to any room! When it comes to hardwood flooring, there’re solid hardwood and engineered hardwood. Compared with solid hardwood, Engineered one has been more and more popular. Let’s learn more about why. Appearance Engineered wood is real wood flooring that’s built in layers and bonded together. The top hardwood layer shows all the natural characteristics and beauty of the selected wood species. With the hardwood ven...eer on the surface, engineered hardwood gives the natural beauty and is of the same appearance with solid hardwood . Sustainability Solid wood planks are made up of one single piece of wood cut to the required size. This means that wider planks need to be cut from bigger and older trees. In contrast engineered planks are made up of multiple layers stuck together. This allows three strips to be laid next to each other to create a wider plank. The top layer of an engineered board is the wearing surface and is a hardwood such as oak, walnut etc. The core/basement underneath the wearing layer are fast growing hardwoods arranged cross-grain for stability. Due to the make-up of an engineered board it uses, on average, 75% less of slow growing hardwoods than solid boards. This makes engineered boards a more eco-friendly choice than solid boards. Economical Engineered hardwood often costs much less than solid wood, especially for the scarce tropical hardwood. Installation costs are also significantly less with engineered wood over solid and parquet flooring. Stability As solid boards are only one piece of wood they are less stable than engineered. Engineered boards don’t expand and contact as much due to the crossed structure of layers. This makes them more suitable in higher moisture environments such as kitchens and basements. We do not recommend the use of wood flooring in bathrooms. Wood and water don’t mix well! The added stability pf engineered flooring also means that it can be used with water based underfloor heating Can be renewed by sanding/refinishing Many engineered floors have a thick veneer layer that can be sanded and refinished for easier repair of everyday wear and tear. This means that you won’t have to spend money buying brand new flooring. Installation Due to the profile of solid planks they have to be secret nailed or stuck down which can make the job longer. Depending on the plank, Engineered hardwood flooring can be stapled, glued, or floated, depending on the product you choose. Floating floors are the easiest to install and can go directly over an existing flooring. For more information or inspiration, please visit. www.floorzonespacific.com
