22.01.2022 Mother’s Day week is upon us! Thank you to everyone who has put in an order for this weekend already, it really helps with knowing how much stock to order and how many hands I need on deck! I thought I’d share some imagery of the flowers I have in store this week so you can get an idea of what’s in season, and what to expect in your arrangements. ... You can choose from any one of my bouquet styles this weekend, or just opt for the Mother’s Day bunch which will be a mix of soft and pretty seasonal flowers, wrapped in beautiful, low-waste packaging and finished with a recycled sari silk ribbon (for bouquets over $100). The shop will be open all weekend this weekend, from 9am both days. Pick ups are preferred but deliveries can be arranged if need be. Contact me if you have any questions or prefer to just place an order direct instead of through the website. It all works, so whatever suits you! Thanks and looking forward to my first Mother’s Day in Bellevue Hill! 19.01.2022 Mother’s Day flower update! Ok so you might be starting to hear that there is going to be a flower shortage next week for Mother’s Day. Remember what happened last year? I do, there was panic everywhere all weekend and as a tiny little freelance florist, I was getting desperate calls the day before asking for flowers. I could only offer what I had though which wasn’t much! I’m not going to declare a flower shortage as I don’t think that’s true, but what will impact you is th...e availability of the prettiest and most sought after flowers, they will be limited. I have done my best to secure my favourite ingredients like the ones shown in these pics, but there isn’t an endless supply. They are hard to get, more expensive, and therefore more heart-achingly beautiful and precious! The benefit of pre-ordering your flowers for Mum today means that I will prioritise your order, and make sure you are getting the best of the pick! As time passes, the flowers will walk out the door. If you don’t want to miss out, put your order in today! Its easy to jump across to my website and process your order now. If you want flowers for Mum, get onto it today! It’s Saturday, you might be hungover, but you have time now, and it might actually give you a sense of achievement! Do it!!

17.01.2022 WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO ASK WHERE YOUR FLOWERS COME FROM... Through talking to people I have learnt a common assumption is made that the flowers you find in most florists are grown in Australia. This is unfortunately not true. ... Most people are shocked when they learn this. For years, the idea of imported roses has been glorified. Columbian roses used to sound so luxurious. Let me tell you why they’re not... Imported flowers, and in particular, imported roses: Rob money from our local growers and economy. Create way more waste, as less local roses can be sold so they are in turn thrown out. Have a huge carbon footprint. The air miles to get roses from Columbia or Kenya when we have flower growers in Australia is not justifiable. The imports pose a huge risk to our biosecurity, bringing unknown pests into Australia. The fumigation process the flowers go through when entering our country releases more unnecessary chemicals into the environment, meaning you are bringing chemical covered flowers into your home. Working conditions in these countries are often unregulated so you are basically supporting slave labour by buying these roses. Something to consider next time you need to send flowers or have them in your home. You can be assured that Florada never uses imported flowers of any kind.

05.01.2022 Look at the detail on the variegated pittosporum leaves, and the cute little camomile flowers, and the white to pink gradient dahlias, and the speckled hydies, and the burnt yellow chrissies! It’s like colouring in except Mother Nature chooses all the colours and I just put them together!
