15.01.2022 What kind of LED downlight placement do you prefer? A) Practicality all the way! B) Symmetrical or i cant look!... When installing LED down lights we highly recommend a combination of both symmetrical and practicality in a home. We like to go for symmetrical in places like bedrooms, toilets, living areas and outdoor entertaining areas. But practicality is a must in places such as bathrooms, kitchens and hobby rooms. When planning out your ideal placement also be weary of any ceiling fans or pendants to avoid unwanted shadowing. https://www.floranceelectrical.com.au/ceiling-fans-lighti/

02.01.2022 There is often a lot of confusion as to what kind of smoke alarms are needed in a home. When quoting we often get asked to install the cheapest option being the 10 year Lithium battery alarm. But did you know that in order for your smoke alarms to be compliant, it isn't as easy as choosing the cheapest option? Depending on your home and when it was built, will determine what kind of alarm you require.... So by legislation what kind of smoke alarms does your house require? While there are many types of dwellings which will also have a factor in what kind of alarms you will require, let us break it down for you in the simplest term of a standard home. If your home was built before 1 July 1997, and you don’t already have smoke alarms installed, you will need to buy and install smoke alarms in accordance with Australian Standards 3786. If your home was built after 1997, it should have 240 volt (hard wired) smoke alarms installed at the time it was built. This is a requirement under the Building Code of Australia (BCA). If you have done major renovations to your home since 1997 it should have included the installation of 240 volt (hard wired) smoke alarms. For more information on smoke alarm legislation, check out the link below.https://www.floranceelectrical.com.au/fire-safety-smoke-al/
