24.01.2022 Picked a handful of corals this morning: pink Hawaiian coral, coral charm and coral sunset. Loving them so much! #florelie #peonies #florelieflowers #peony #australianpeonies #australiangrownflowers #flowerfarmingaustralia #countryvic #victoria #ballaratlife #aussiegarden

24.01.2022 Ethan and I were chatting last night and we are only a couple of months away from our 10 year wedding anniversary. When he proposed to me he left me a trail of red rose petals to follow. Deep red flowers have always held a special place in my heart. Now this photo is of a peony but you would be forgiven for thinking it looks like a rose. This form in peonies is my absolute favourite! I LOVE seeing layer upon layer of ruffly petals. In fact I don’t think I’ve met a flower wi...th lots of petals that I don’t love yet ... ranunculus, dahlias, roses... what other flowers have lots of petals? I wonder what flower has the most petals? This gorgeous variety I am propagating so I have enough to plant out a couple of rows in the peony paddock. Carol is definitely a favourite #florelie #peony #springinaustralia #ballaratinspring #springinballarat #flowerfarmvictoria #victorianflowerfarm #ballaratflowers #ballaratbusiness #ballaratlifestyle #visitvictoriaaustralia #visitvictoria #victoriaaustralia #flowersvictoria #gardensofvictoriaaustralia #australiangarden #victoriangarden #ballaratgardener #australiangarden

23.01.2022 This new caramel toned seedling was late to flower but I’m enjoying the colour. How about you? Are you a fan? Should I keep it? What colours would you combine it with in a floral design? #florelie #beardediris #irislove #iris #flowers #growprettythings #growflowers #springgarden #inmygardentoday #gardeninglife #growingflowers

20.01.2022 First harvest of foxgloves has me all giddy Totally swoon worthy can’t wait to see what @fioriarteflorist creates with these. Dose of reality:... - I could barely fit these in my car because they are so tall and had to very carefully angle the bucket inside. - a full bucket is heavy! Heavier than you might imagine and the foxglove patch is a couple hundred meters from the house - manouvering through doors is quite a feat! Trying to watch all of those tall spires and make sure they didn’t catch on anything on my way in. - two years of plants in the ground before seeing any flowers - totally worth it #Florelie #foxgloves #digitalis #digitalislove #foxglove #foxglovesofinstagram #springblooms #flowerbucket #ballaratgrown #ballaratflowers #ballaratflorist #fioriarteflorist #ballaratshopping #ballaratbusiness

20.01.2022 If only I could share the fragrance of this beauty with you. This is one of my favourite peony varieties and it honestly smells like a garden rose. SO AMAZING! I’ve been hunting for a while now to try and work out which variety it is but I still haven’t solved the mystery. I got my original roots from my cousin Dan and his partner Chloe and have been slowly propagating from there. I had never seen peonies in real life until I was in my mid 20s and was given 2 bunches for my b...irthday. These were one of those bunches. seeing those peonies in real life is what sparked the dream of having a flower farm for me. So if you enjoy following along with my journey this flower has a lot to do with it! After receiving those bunches of peonies I started looking into cut flowers more and realized that some people were doing this as an actual job! Down the rabbit hole I went.... and this is where I’ve ended up! I know there are a lot of other flower farmers who follow along too. What sparked the idea of a flower farm for you? #florelie #peony #australianpeonies #australianflowers #australiangrown #ballaratbusiness #sparkjoy #peonyaddiction #peonylove #iloveflowers #australiangrownflowers #whereistarted #whereitallbegan #cottagegarden #cutflowers #flowerfarmer

17.01.2022 Coral supreme. I’ve been enjoying the few peonies I’ve had this year. Each bloom delighting me with its colour and shape. The corals are definitely wow-worthy #florelie #peony #aussiegrown #aussieflowers #ballaratgarden#ballaratgrown #ballaratgardener #gardenersofaustralia #ballaratinspring #springinballarat #ballarat

14.01.2022 Peony ‘Gardenia’ having a moment in the spotlight. With a name like that I expected it to be more fragrant however the scent is very mild. The peony itself is a beauty though with the softest hint of blush on white petals. #florelie #peony #australianpeony #flowerfarmaustralia #australianflowerfarm #australiangrown #ballaratflowers #supportaustralianbusinesses #aussiebusiness

07.01.2022 Picking foxgloves for orders this morning. Don’t you love those speckles! #florelie #foxgloves #springblooms #foxglove #foxglovelove #flowerfarm #flowerfarmer #australiangrown

04.01.2022 Peony ‘Rosedale Red’ flowering for the first time for me. An early flowering variety it’s blooming coincides with many of the corals I’ve tried so far. The shape is very similar to that of coral charm and coral supreme with its semi double form and visible stamens in the center. Do you like the semi double forms of peonies?... I must admit that I am most taken by the peonies with layer upon layer of petals and the rose-like scent. This one is lovely though and it’s definitely staying. It’s only downside in my opinion is that if you stick your nose in the smell is not very pleasant. #florelie #peonies #peonyflower #peonyseason #paeonia #peonylove #redpeony #springflowers #petals #romanticflower #weddingflower #australianpeonies

03.01.2022 I hope you like peony photos because I plan on sharing a photo of each precious new variety that opens this year This gorgeous fluffy beauty is Bowl of cream If you’re new around here you might not have heard how these are the flowers that sparked the dream of having a flower farm for me. Unfortunately they’re also quite slow growing so we’ve been slowly working on these in the background while we are also growing other flowers. We still won’t have peonies available as cu...t flowers for a couple of years as we only planted our first roots in the ground this year. But when we do start to have them boy will it be amazing! Well, I know I’ll be amazed and I hope you will be too #florelie #peonies #peonyseason #australianpeonies #peoniesaustralia #peony #whitepeony #weddingflower #whiteflower #coolclimateflowers #peonyfarm #peonyfarmaustralia #australianflowerfarm #flowergroweraustralia #australiangrown #weddingflowersaustralia #australianflorists #aussieflorist

03.01.2022 It’s pretty crazy to think that only a week ago the bearded iris were in full swing and now I just have a few stragglers left. What’s your favourite colour you’ve seen in bearded iris? I admit I love the reds the most. #florelie #beardediris #flowerfarm #springflowers #ballaratgrown #growinballarat #ballaratfarmer #flowerfarmher #gardeninginaustralia #coolclimateflowers #victoriaaustralia #ruralvictoria #countrygarden #cottagegarden #cottagegardenflowers

02.01.2022 We knew we had some hot and windy days coming up so I picked the handful of peonies I have flowering at the moment to bring inside and enjoy. Pictured here is Pink Hawaiian coral, rosedale red, coral charm, coral supreme and soft salmon saucer. So far everything that has flowered is as it should be. I decided to allow each root to set one bud this year so I could confirm the ID of some of my plants after accidentally letting one flower and seeing it wasn’t what I had ordered... last year. Usually it’s recommended to remove peony buds for the first 2 years to help the plant establish a better root system. I must admit that these sneaky buds are making me feel like the long haul is worth it I’m still 2 years off being able to harvest from the roots I have planted in the ground. Peonies definitely require patience. #florelie #peonies #peonylove #australianpeonies #coralpeonies #redpeony #gardentovase #cutflowers #cuttinggarden #ballaratflowers #ballaratgrown

02.01.2022 Well foxgloves became a favourite fairly quickly this season! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed growing these beauties. I’m dropping off some end of season bunches to @winesofficefurniture today for pick up from 11am. They’re $25 each. Please remember to wash your hands after touching foxgloves and keep out of reach of children #florelie #foxgloves #springinballarat #ballaratshopping #buylocalballarat #shoplocalballarat #ballaratbusiness #ballarat #visitballarat #ballaratflowers
