18.01.2022 Hi fellow florists and members of the PFA of NSW. In October I was approached by Lynda Coburn of Kurri Kurri Tafe Teacher of Floristry. I was asked to apply to the government by letter for a course for florists to understand better infection control for covid 19. By writing and supporting this course it meant we could put our hand up for our industry,as often our industry is very much overlooked.This course I'm pleased to say has been approved and available to members and flo...rists in this state.Together with Lynda Coburn of Kurri Kurri Tafe we got it over the line. The Statement of Attainment is Nationally Recognized and is run over 8 weeks.(there is a break in delivery due to Christmas and New year) maximum is 15 enrollments. So if your interested please send your name and details to the email in this flyer. The first 15 will get the placement allocation and the rest will be added to a waiting list.The most important positive is it's FEE FREE.Totally online and all sessions are recorded therefore you can virtually say it's self paced but if you want to interact in the sessions the timetable will be given in enrolment. Personally I'm so very excited this course has been offered and accepted and I do hope you all can take advantage of this course for yourself and those running stores and staff. 14.01.2022 Hi fellow florists! Due to COVID 19 as you know it's been impossible to gather together and enjoy the fun events together. We miss you all x... So over the past few months I've been preparing a collaboration. Myself as president and our committee are very excited to announce...... which I've been busting out of my heart to share ..... This is going to be a great collaboration. Its a combination with TAFE NSW Floristry and the PFA. And my heartfelt thanks goes to Joanna Hynard And David Berger and the TAFE team Stay tuned.... Acess to you all will be at no cost to you but a massive chance to enjoy great industry insights on floristry. Some releases will be very exclusive...... I look forward to presenting to you..... Is my go to resource for information on cut flowers and foliage used in the flower industry. I was one of the reviewers and endorsers of the book. I found the content easy to read and in plain English. All the revelant plant characteristics are listed, being developed in Australia the seasonally availability and growing conditions are a great reference where as many textbooks are from the northern hemisphere being opposite to Australian seasons. The images are clear and easily referenced to actual product. In my role as a TAFE NSW teacher I use 'What cut flower is that?' in my daily delivery to guide students. A essential to any florists library. David Berger.

Well myself and pfa committee have come up with a great initiative....... A series of videos on book reviews of our great industry Looking at some great books in more detail. Stay tuned....... I found through these strange and difficult times for the world, flowers keep me connected to my friends and family, no matter how far apart we are. I am so grateful for that connection. So by going through my collection I felt very inspired. So I hope you can join us on the PFA series of book reviews. We wanted to send so much love and strength to those in need right now. Lets be kind, more patient, more supportive, more tolerant. Reach out, touch base with those you love. Dont be afraid to ask for help. We are stronger together, and we must try to maintain connection, but also help to keep each other safe. Please, take care.
