22.01.2022 COVID-19 you SUCK! So does living in a regional postcode that’s part of a metro shire - now that makes a lot of sense We have one office under Stage 4 restrictions and the other under Stage 3, so where to from here?... ALL appointments will now be via the phone Luckily we have phone appointments down pat and you can be in the comfort of your own home - in your pjs if you choose - no judgement We also have that online form - it’s easy! ff.tax/taxreturn Give us a bell if you need to drop off info and we’ll book a time for a ‘safe drop’. Stay safe and well

Lockdown update ... Tax appointments will be over the phone Or you can send your info online: https://ff.tax/taxreturn (blue section - it’s really easy!) Book an appointment here: https://www.flourishingfigures.com.au/book-now/ or Call 1300 865 624 Tax Checklists are under the Resources tab on our website Any questions or concerns, please call 1300 865 624 or email [email protected] See more

16.01.2022 Yes, its true! As Accountants we tend to know everything, and I mean eeeeeeeehhhhh-verything!!!! (Well, we like to think so...)... At the end of the day you can always.. 16.01.2022 Did you know you can claim Working From Home Expenses?? Well, howdy doody! If you work from home and have a cool little space set aside like an office, the ATO have a few methods to work out what best suits your circumstances.... Like us and many Australians, we have had to work from our little humble abodes due to the pandemic!! Thankfully, the ATO have been so gracious and made a "Short Cut Method" available during this horrid time of the year, this is allowing a higher claim then the usual... But, and this is important - " " !! Meaning, you cannot claim that beautiful new desk you purchased that you posted on your socials hash tagging #workfromhomelife And no, you cannot claim the heating and cooling because well Melbourne weather. And you certainly cannot claim those cute ugg boots you brought because well, the heater just wasn't warm enough! BUT, not to worry your number nerds are not only good with numbers but the knowledge on what method best fits you! Give us a call on 1300 865 624 or email us at [email protected] and we can give you more information and guide you in the right direction.

15.01.2022 Wonderful news today For us, the ‘ring of steel’ coming down doesn’t mean any changes because we are a ‘non essential’ business. We go by the if you can work from home, you must work from home rule and that will be in place until we reach the Final Step / ‘COVID Normal’.... We’re almost there See more

14.01.2022 That’s a wrap Hard to believe how this year has flown by when we spent the majority of it in isolation. It’s almost 9 months since the first lockdown started... Which means the generation of rona babies can’t be far away ... We can’t thank you enough for your patience and understanding this year, as we navigated the constant changes in legislation, working from home and trying to support all of our wonderful clients who were affected in so many different ways. We feel humbled to be in a position to help you and for your trust in us It’s time for our annual 2 week closure and some much needed downtime. We’ll be back on Monday 4th January 2021 at 9am, ready for the final round of JobKeeper!

14.01.2022 Cows in Cowes At least we can have some fun with our masks - Thanks Mum! We have limited in person appointments and Shelley will be wearing a mask. If you are coming to the Lang Lang office, then from tomorrow you MUST wear one too.... We have contactless appointments too. When booking, you can request a phone call or you can jump on the website and fill in our online form (ff.tax/taxreturn and look for the blue section) - it’s easy! Take care xx See more

12.01.2022 Are you a Non Essential business in Victoria who has had to close? The Victorian Government has launched the $500 million Business Support Fund to help small businesses survive the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and keep people in work. There are grants of up to $10,000 available, if you... employ staff have been subject to closure or are highly impacted by Victoria’s Non-Essential Activity Directions issued by the Deputy Chief Health Officer to-date have a turnover of more than $75,000 have payroll of less than $650,000 For more details, check out the link

12.01.2022 Hear hear! It’s breaking our hearts watching this unfold, especially when Government support is not accessible to some due to inequities in policy (We know they did the best that they could, within a short space of time, however it’s not a perfect system) It’s time to reopen in a safe way

11.01.2022 Cowes Office CLOSED Tuesday Shelley & Rebecca are a little under the weather and given what’s happening, we think it’s best to close the office until Wednesday. We’ll be working from home instead and the phone has been diverted, so you can still reach us ... There’s a lot of uncertainty at the moment, so we’re going to take it one day at a time. We’re quite fortunate that we’re cloud based and we can continue on with business as usual. Take care of yourselves

11.01.2022 Link for the third round of the Business Support Fund, which is open now Sole traders link in comments

10.01.2022 On what would have been a public holiday, we have decided to close the office and have a Mental Health Day Like everyone else, we’ve had holidays cancelled and for us these were our pre Tax Time breaks. Instead we’ve been supporting our wonderful clients through JobKeeper, other Government Grants and of course Tax Time! On top of that it seems that every bank wants to have the latest year’s financials and tax returns (like yesterday) ... So we’re a little drained and we know that you can’t pour from an empty cup We are going to have a 3 day weekend to reset and we’ll be back raring to go on Monday for JobKeeper round 2! Take care everyone See more

09.01.2022 Timely reminder as we come close to Christmas The ATO will NOT threaten to ‘suspend your TFN’ These scammers are also calling from mobile numbers now

08.01.2022 What are you up to this weekend? It’s a strange feeling not having to be somewhere or do something. Although it’s actually really nice and what a gorgeous day too It’s the perfect day for walking the dog, cooking up a storm, working on that someday project, spending time with family and maybe bookwork? ... It’s especially nice, when this coming week is going to be a busy one. Busy with lodging BAS’ for businesses with employees, so that they can claim their Government stimulus payment. If you’re confused about what you’re entitled to or worried about your financial situation, book in a free 10 minute phone call on the website and we’ll give you a call during the week. Take care and remember we’re all in this together xx #slowliving #familytime #grateful #stayathome #businessnotquiteasusual

07.01.2022 LONG WEEKEND Seriously though, where has this year gone? We blinked and October is almost over! It’s been another big month for us. JobKeeper 2.0 threw us some curveballs and put us another 2 weeks behind.... On a positive note, the kids went back to school and some businesses are now allowed to open We’re still non essential and half considered ‘metro’, so won’t be back at the office for a while yet. Fingers crossed for sooner rather than later, because we could use a change of scenery and having some separation between home and the office Plus we miss seeing each other!! We usually have a long weekend at this time of the year and 2020 is no exception. Shelley said Rebecca and Bek need to put their feet up, have a few bevies & chill (so if you see them doing otherwise, please tell them off ) See more

06.01.2022 What a day... We made the decision today, that we will be working from home, for the time being. We need to make sure that we can support you during this time of uncertainty. This means no in person appointments and we'll be having phone appointments instead. 03.01.2022 To our loyal fanbase, I mean clients, WE MADE IT! Through isolation, lack of loo roll and our least best friend - JobKeeper paperwork.... We’re incredibly grateful to work with you and for you, especially when the road gets rough (dishonourable mention to 2020). There’s nobody we’d rather chase down the ATO for than you lot! Cheers to some quality rest, Christmas dinner with loved ones, and a cheeky gift or two (supporting local businesses of course!) I am great at initiating physical exercise and implementing important relaxation time. I am proud of my job role here. In my spare time, I enjoy visiting Gran and Pa's farm, playing fetch and gett...ing as much attention as possible, which isn't hard." Photo by @laurenmurphyphotography See more
