24.01.2022 Dr Liz is relieved that the Victorian government has mandated face masks outside of home from 11:59 pm this Wednesday. This also applies to children > 12 years. Children between 2 years and 12 years it is preferable. Toddlers under 2 years are not required This does not apply to the childcare environment... This will help minimise infection outside the home as so many people still are NOT practicing social distancing as we would like them to. There is now good evidence the the Covid-19 virus is spread by airborne particles beyond the 1.5 meter distance and consist of smaller droplets.

08.01.2022 When fitting your mask, make sure its comfortable with a good seal above the nose before going out. This will minimise touching your mask while you are wearing it. Remember the surface of the mask could potentially be covered with Covid-19 virus so each time you touch or fiddle with your mask you need to wash or sanitise your hands. Wash or sanitise your hands before you put it on and after you take it off. There are many companies offering child sized masks on line or you can easily make one at home.

07.01.2022 In response to the increasing number of active cases of Covid-19 infections in Victoria Dr Liz Hallam prefers Telehealth consultations. Booking available on line. If you have an infant under 12 months she is happy to consider a face to face (mask to mask) appointment. Please email Dr Liz to discuss.... Telehealth consultations can be by zoom or phone Dr Liz has done many Telehealth consults in the last few weeks and has found that they can work very well. Mask to mask consults for older children is not optimal and as non verbal cues are missed.
