23.01.2022 Can you safely drive a vehicle to a destination when asked, can you tell witty jokes to stressed-out city cameramen/women, do you have a supply of red snakes or... other travel snacks you are willing to share? I'm looking for several drivers available to drive cast and crew of a TV program during filming in Winton and Longreach on the 9th and 10th of October. You may need to drive a hire car so must have an open licence. Contact me on the details below asap to be considered. 22.01.2022 Here’s why a lot of small business do not to have employees (yet): - They prefer working on their own - They want to do things at their own time - They have not yet grown their business to the point of hiring employees ... How about you? Do you prefer working on your own or with the help of a team? I find comfort in a these statistics, as it means there are hundreds of thousands of we small business folk, out there doing our thing. We may feel small, a bit insignificant, but together we can have, are having a big impact on our regional economies and the economy at large. . . . #outbackbusiness #barcaldine #flourishresources.co #regionalbusiness See more

22.01.2022 That moment you realise you have not actually finished your website because..... "its soooo haaarrrdd" (oh dear I sound like my 8 year old!!!) .. she'd continue.... "Its going to take like 10 thousand years!!!". Whinges for longer than it take to do the job. I am almost 40 years older than her. ... Guilty. See more

22.01.2022 Believe it. Take in the scenery. Get back on track if you are on a bumpy side track. Take snacks! Revel in being somewhere you hadn't planned on being.... Put a line through it if you don't want to go down that road again. Stop and smell the wild flowers. Avoid the big potholes (you're bound to go over a few little ones, but you'll be ok). Look out for roos. They are unexpected and you don't want to damage your vehicle or hurt them. Dream about your destination, (briefly). Sing along. Don't ride the clutch. Go forward or stop and map out your route. Most importantly, enjoy the journey. . . . . . 21.01.2022 'Success in the knowledge economy comes to those who know themselves, - their strengths, their values & how to best perform.' - Peter F Drucker. . Yep. Sounds easy. Ha. . ... Hmmmmm... . So whatcha good at & what do you care about? . I am naturally good at creative solutions, thinking outside the square, trying new things and am passionate about helping solve peoples problems and outback economic development (almost as much as I am passionate about cake). Do we have anything in common? If we do, yay! If we don't, cooool! . . #flourishresources.co #drucker #regionalbusinesswomen #Igniteyourideas See more

19.01.2022 Initially I got really frustrated when someone said 'you can't manage time'. But as Kerwin Rae says "You can't manage time, you can manage your energy, which determines how much you get done". Then I realised this is sooo true. I can only manage myself (which I struggle with some days ). But if I manage my energy and my focus (even harder!) then I can guarantee I'll have a productive day. Absolutely guarantee it. Guarantee it!! (deliberately repeated. As much for myself as y...ou). Time management was a big topic in last week's Mastermind so I am rounding up all the tips, tricks and resources I can find to help the small businesses I work with and share some with you along the way. What are your thoughts on time management? I wish I was better at it. . . . #outbackbusiness #barcaldine #ruralbusiness #flourishresources.co #ruralwomeninbusiness #regionalbusiness #regionalsmallbusiness See more

18.01.2022 Check with your accoutant but I am pretty sure that learning photography is a tax deducation for your business. It will also...inspire your creative side, refresh you, you'll meet other fun people, you will giggle & you will learn how to create eye-catching images for your business. Its playing for grown-ups.

18.01.2022 POT CALLED THE KETTLE! I have used planning and getting 'organised' as my way of procrastinating, putting off the tough brain work and hiding. Please tell me I'm not the only one?!!! If you're like me and spend way to much time organising, re-organising, rearranging then it's time we got on with the 'doing'. Yes it will take different sort of brain power but imagine it like the gym for your creative muscle. I've just heard that our brains are in fact lazy, they want the easy... way out. Sounds like a case of use or loose it . And from someone who looses their keys every second day, I'd say it's time I got to that gym. What have you been planning that you need to 'do'? I'd love to hear about it. xxx Louise See more

15.01.2022 Welcome to Flourish Resources & Co! I am having a bit of career change. Being a 'mulit-potientialite' I am quite proud of the more than 10 years I stuck with professional photography. It was the continual line of challenges that kept photography interesting and a place where I kept (keep!) learning. However, I really want to help people with small businesses or an idea for small business with more than purely photos. My passion is to help you ignite you big ideas so you a...nd your community flourish! The Flourish Resources & Co focus is imagery, digital marketing & an AMAZING community to support you to ignite those big ideas & flourish! [.....well actually then we ignite another big idea!! ;) ] I can't wait to work with you, to help you make an impact for you and/or your community. See more

15.01.2022 Ahhh the life of an entrepreneur (tongue in cheek)..... Washing a hire car for your small business one morning, then the car appearing on international TV in the Amazing Race the next day! This is one of the country boys competing in the Amazing Race at the moment jumping into a @barcaldinecarhire vehicle. We are very excited and proud of our little business. It's enabling people to fly directly into Barcy, helps locals out when they have car troubles, puts a heap of cash thr...ough town via mechanics, accommodation houses, cafes, fuel and car detailing. A good proportion of this money would most likely been spent elsewhere if hire cars weren't available in Barcy. I NEVER imagined we would need a fleet of 5 (!) cars. Just goes to show, life in the outback isn't slow at all. Hope you've had a good week. . If you are an Outback tragic like me, then come across to @EurekaOutback. It's about to be recycled, revamped, rejuvenated, re-enlivened, relaunched as we recognise, relish and rejoice all we have Outback and put it on a silver platter to serve up to locals and visitors alike. . . . #outbackqld #barcaldine #eurekaoutback #ruralwomeninbusiness #longreach #barcaldinecarhire See more

12.01.2022 Captured at 7:30pm, 12 Nov 2020 by my photoSentinel long-term timelapse that I affectionately my (albeit significantly expensive & long running) art project. This is about 20km south-west of Barcaldine. For photography boffins, it was actually dark then but I have my time-lapse camera set to auto so it does a long expeosure in the dark, to capture just this sort of thing. I named this project is rather optimistically in 2016, 'Green Grass' to capture the end of the drought. Hopefully it will do its job in 2021. Not for me or my art, but for the land, and the pastoralists & our communitites who rely on on it.

09.01.2022 Water your own grass. Run your own race. Don't even follow your 'perceived' competition on social media. Nurture what is best for YOU. Compete with yourself. to you... James Wedmore #Repost @jameswedmore The grass ALWAYS seems greener on the other side. But imagine how lush and full your lawn would look if you watered your own dang grass! Because truth be told, when you spend all of your time focusing on what other people have, it takes away the time you need to take the necessary actions to make YOUR own goals a reality! So why would you continue to compete against other people and their journey when your real completion is YOU?

08.01.2022 I am still establishing my new business so not many people know about it, or know what I do or how I can them. Yes I have Insta & Facebook business pages set up, website is under construction but to reach new people I am going to have to.... (insert blood curdling scream).... advertise! Eek! Sure I'll be posting, hashtagging & 'engaging' but this still won't make my business or what I do CLEARLY VISIBLE to new potential customers. I all know you all offer great things. 08.01.2022 Guaranteed stress buster when you are feeling overwhelmed. Following the KISS Keep It Simple Stupid) principle, I find that good old fashioned pens & sticky notes slash my overwhelm and get me focused. 1: Write down EVERYTHING you have to do. 2: Create columns. They can be based on time, location, event, ease of accomplishment (energy requirements?), a mix of these and any other themes that best help you prioritise. 3: Sort sticky notes, ensuring important, urgent t...hings are at the top. 4: Do the first 1 big task. 5: Scrunch that baby when it's done & start your done pile. 6: Stress free happy dance! . . . . #flourishresources.co #regionalbusiness #smallbusinesstips #getthingsdone #louisegronold See more

04.01.2022 One of my favourite ways to start the day. Stretching, and a meditation whilst I put the billy on. Then it's brekky and planning the day by the fire. I always thought it counterintuitive to get up early and 'waste' time exercising, reflecting and strategising the day ahead, when I have so much to do. 'Surely its more efficient to get uo and do something!' I naively assumed. But when I give myself space & time in the morning, even if it does mean getting up at 5:30, I am signi...ficantly more effective during the day. The side of me who loves sleepins, as I am naturally a night owl, has slowly come around to this new, uplifting, soul finding regime. I was inspired by couple of beautiful friends who changed their day, so they got some guaranteed uninterrupted time for themselves. Do you do anything similar? . . . #earlybirdgetstheworm #regionalbusiness #outbackbusiness #morningmotivation #morningrituals See more

04.01.2022 Does that make you feel better? FROM: Australian Small Business & Family Enterprise Ombudsman - 'Small Business Counts 2019' I released an audible incredulous sigh and said 'Whhaaaatt? Seriously?!' when I read this. As I assumed little old me in outback Queensland, fumbling along in the dark, forgetting things, screwing things up occasionally (although to be honest if feels like quite often sometimes), in the midst of an horrendous drought, with my litle old crazy id...eas, that I was turning over wwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy less than your average business. Turns out its not quite so. Don't get me wrong, I am not turning over $200k but if I actually got out of my own way, I'd be more than half way there. So if you have been, or are, giving your self excuses to belittle your probably amazing little business or business idea, I challenge you to take it seriously. Gosh, I feel like $200k is an unrealistic goal for me, a small town micro business owner. But on reflection, a few of my wild pipedreams that I never thought possible are now a reality. So what do I know? ;) I do know that no matter the size, you are running a business, whose goal it is to turn a profit (I'll discuss profit in antoher post as its a whole new bag of worms). And in a regional area every little, itty-bitty business counts. Any amount of turnover means turnover through your community and now more than ever, that's a really good thing. Here's to super successful itty-bitty businesses!! xx Louise * * * * * #regionalbusiness #outbackbusiness #barcaldine #ittybittybusiness #smallbusinessbigimpact #regionalbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessgrowth #ruralbusiness #regionalwomen #bushbusiness #flourishresources.co #eurekaoutback #ruralwomeninbusiness #longreach #blackall #outbackqldbusiness See more

04.01.2022 Which 'P' was the trigger for your business? Or was it something else altogether?

03.01.2022 It sounds so easy to let go of something negative, or unhelpful, or that does not serve you. When it's really a bit tricky, requiring discipline, strategy & action. Fortunately, not too much tho . This year, I am letting go of a lot of limiting beliefs about my age, my appearance, the limits I place on my 'small target population' regional businesses, my (in)ability to look polished like 'other' online brands, and I'm just going to get on with it. I want to help outback Quee...nsland to grow sustainably, by supporting the vast array of solopreneurs & small businesses in Outback Queensland with imagery tuition (via Outback Camera Dates so you can do your own business photography, or most of it anyway), marketing (via a new improved Eureka Outback directory coming soon) & connections for you with peers & experts (via the 'Ampersand Society'. As some of us are doing this & that, & perhaps even that over there...? ) . But as Brendon says, to do it we've got to let things go. What are you letting go of to make way for new things? See more
