25.01.2022 The Wild and Aware Challenge takes a holistic approach to New Year Resolutions. Rather than setting an intention such as - I will lose weight, I will be happier or I will stop drinking or smoking. We want to understand the root cause of our drinking, smoking, weight gain or lack of happiness and contentment so that we can progress in these areas and actually sustain our results. Understanding ourselves is having a familiarity with what makes us do what we do, and the re...asons behind our actions. To accomplish this, we have to explore our tendencies, core beliefs, personality quirks, hopes and dreams, emotional reactions, judgments, and attachments. This 30 Day Challenge offers you a supportive (private) online community. A space where you will be given contemplations and tasks to help you understand yourself, your imbalances and your strengths in greater depth to break free of the shackles that hold you back from achieving your goals and desires. You will receive: > Free daily inspirational and thought-provoking content > Your own 30 Day Accountability Journal > Yoga and Meditation audio and video to do at home > Em and Nat will go live each Monday morning in the closed FB group to announce the weeks mini-challenge and motivate you for a great week ahead > A safe and supportive environment to help celebrate each other’s wins and support each other’s set-backs. How do you enter the challenge? To join, just sign up with your name and email address via our website: www.flowerandmane.com Challenge runs January 5th - February 3rd 2020. Tag a friend or family member who you would love to do the challenge with With love, Nat #byronbay #selfawareness #2020 #challenge

This has given us all the necessary time to dip our toes into what is the year 2020. So, how is it going for you so far? Do you need a little something to accelerate your progression or slow down your thinking mind? Head to the website to register for this FREE 30-day challenge. 23.01.2022 A Lion can spend up to 20 hours per day sleeping. Yes, even these strong, fierce, magnificent creatures honour themselves with plenty of much needed rest. In our society as human animals, we are taught to climb the ladder until our bodies can no longer keep up with our goals and we retire. Whether it’s a corporate role, a successful small business or earning a promotion in any job. We put in so many hours (on average a person will spend an entire 13 years of their life workin...g). We’re taught - to want to be ‘successful’. We all know someone who truly identifies with their reputation and status at work. We all know someone who works their ass off as their life passes them by in their peripheral vision. But are we really striving to achieve our own goals or are we a slave to our job - asleep at the wheel - overworking ourselves to achieve the goals of the people who taught us what success is supposed to look like? If the King of the Jungle can honour his body, rest and stay at the top - maybe there’s another way for us. Are you living to work or working to live? Nat

21.01.2022 Oh heyyy anxiety, my unwanted friend! How are you? actually don’t answer that! You don’t deserve any part of me.. K-byeeee I found myself earlier this morning entertaining the most unwanted anxiety ridden thoughts. It was like my mind took to a corner a little too quick on a dirt track and in an instance I was free falling into a dark dank chravis at rapid speed. Though the coolest thing happened, I felt my body shout to my mind- pulling it back to safety. Anxiety has a... way of segregating our body from our thoughts, feelings and emotions; seeking to scatter them North, South, East & West. Its agenda is to make us distrust ourselves, robbing us from our intuition. So I’ve decided to talk back. I tell my body this, Thank you for holding me together; wrapped in skin. You are the one and only home for my heart. Thank you for everything we’ve journeyed together. You are beautifully resilient. I’m so proud to be yours! Cultivating trust can be a simple as affirming to ourselves the honest truth. That moment of authenticity leaves all that is against us shaking in its boots. With love, Em

14.01.2022 Self nourishment is a pretty vast term that is often glamorized, especially here on social media. When we choose to think that Self Nourishment requires a great deal of effort or cost - we are less likely to invest in this time for ourselves. Self nourishment can be as simple as intentionally preparing a nourishing meal that your body will love you for. It could be 5 minutes of stillness, asking your partner to take the kids for 30 minutes so that you can have a bath or prior...itising a certain amount of time to do something that you love - art, dance, a yoga class. The kind of Self Nourishment that is least talked about is the nourishment of self when consciously removing a burden from our shoulders. An unpaid bill, an overdue check up or pap test. Lightening the load with the intention of doing something good for ourselves is also self nourishment. Ask yourself now: What can I do this week that will nourish me? We would love to hear all about your Self Nourishment plans this week. Embrace vulnerability and comment below Nat & Em x #selfnourishment #selfcare #vulnerability #wildandaware #flowerandmane #byronbay

13.01.2022 Somedays are made of magic. Other days require us to make magic and there are most certainly days where both collide. These are the greatest days! In creation, creating -- MAGIC. Is anything more satisfying than surrendering all to our childlike curiosity.. losing ourselves in nature to find ourself! Regardless of how your day is shaping up I wonder if you can carve out a single moment to stop and tune in to the spontaneous whisper of your heart? Be it a street you’ve never b...een down. A track nearby that you’ve never ventured or song you’ve not danced to.. We’d love to know where that tug on your heart leads you today! With love, Em

08.01.2022 When I first started meditating, I remember trying not to think at all. I would sit still, with my eyes closed and a minute later I would realise that I had already been through 2 hypothetical arguments and planned what I was going to eat later that day. Once I was aware that I was in fact thinking. I then criticised and judged myself for my inability to clear my own mind, and then once I noticed that I was judging myself, I would judge myself for judging myself Luckily - ...I stayed committed and I learn’t that there are all different types of meditation techniques, including some where you move the mind. You can count the breath, or you might visualise the breath moving around the body in a particular direction, actively training the mind to increase awareness. I’m so glad that I learned to love sitting still because it has hands down been the biggest game changer for me. Once you grow to love the space you find in meditation, you then start naturally placing this space in other aspects of your life, such as before you react to something. Meditation teaches us how to elongate the space between our triggers and our response to them. It’s simple - Meditate and not only will you strengthen your relationship with yourself. You’ll also begin to consciously RESPOND to life rather than REACT to it. Sign up for our newsletter and receive completely FREE monthly meditations guided by me (link below). 04.01.2022 Your judgements have nothing to do with the other person you’re judgments have everything to do with you. - Natalie Childs Whether it’s a gym/half naked selfie on Social Media or the way somebody talks. Your choice to judge them is just that, your choice. When we’re being judgemental, it is actually a great time to stop and reflect on ourselves.... If I find myself judging someone in a less than kind manner whether it’s on the street or online. I am instantly made aware that I am not in that moment aligned with my highest self. The self talk then goes a little something like this -What need or desire of mine is not being met right now? Why do I feel the need to judge someone else's life choices when they have very little or nothing at all to do with me? Our judgments are connected to our belief system and unless you have spent time questioning your own belief system. You will probably find that your beliefs are generated from the opinions and behaviours of others throughout your childhood that are now programmed in your subconscious mind as right or wrong. If someone feels amazing in their active wear or in a sweet little piece of lingerie, and that photo makes them feel good about themselves - what’s it to you if they share it with their Facebook friends? What inside you is being triggered and why? Imagine how much better it would feel to leave a positive comment online or to lift people up in general rather than thinking or speaking about them negatively. More on the subconscious mind and our belief systems in my blog post on Sunday the 15th of December. With love, Natalie

03.01.2022 The social aspects of this time of year are something that I always look forward to - reconnecting with my dear family and friends. In one way, time slows down over Christmas. We have more time for living, feeling and relaxing. However, in another way time seems to speed up and before we know it. It’s the beginning of a new year, we’re heading back to work with endless to-do lists and agendas wishing that we had more time. Are you entering this time with clear intentions of h...ow you want it to be for you? Or are you already feeling overwhelmed by the travel, tourists, expenses and the hustle and bustle in stores? What if you were to take 5 minutes today to sit still with your eyes closed to become clear on what you want out of the next few weeks? I did this for myself this morning and I wanted to share because when we’re aware of what we want, we can match our thoughts and behaviours to align with that outcome. With love, Natalie

01.01.2022 New Blog Post || By @natalie_childs_ How wedded are you to your beliefs? When my daughter Kaylee was 3 years old she asked me for months to buy her a Ken Barbie doll and I continually said no until one day in Woolworths, I saw that Ken was on sale for $4.... I stood still in the isle and questioned myself Why can’t Kaylee have a Ken Barbie? At that moment I realised that the belief I had clung to for so long - Kaylee having a Ken Barbie would be wrong was not actually my belief at all, it was the belief my mother had in my childhood. She didn’t want to enable intimate exploration time with barbie and Ken and I had unconsciously carried that belief into my parenting journey. I decided that day to create my own belief system. I bought Kaylee the Ken Barbie and I’ve been questioning my beliefs and taking ownership of them ever since. .. Studies show that from the last trimester in your mother’s womb until around the age of seven. You were functioning at what they call Theta brainwaves which is like hypnosis. You know the saying about children her mind is like a sponge? - well, It’s true! (This is game-changing for any fellow parents out there with kids under the age of 7). Through this time of exploration and learning about the world. You were soaking in all experiences and conversations. You stored the things that you were told by your parents, the way you saw people behave - everything that you were subject to by your teachers, communities and the media. Everything that you were told was right and wrong. These experiences then became your subconscious programming. Yes the same subconscious mind that controls 95% of your day. Are your beliefs really yours or are they just the opinions of others? Have you ever taken the time to check?
