24.01.2022 Tammi's Tips & Tricks #004 "Oh no! The Oriental Lilies you bought for tonight's dinner still haven't opened." Simply re-cut the stems and place them in a vase of lukewarm water and sit them on a well lit window sill. If all else fails, display them with dramatic tropical greenery, even un-opened, your arrangement is bound to impress.

20.01.2022 Tammi's Tips and Tricks #005 The dreaded 'Order Gatherers' (or OG's) These are large online companies that take orders for flower deliveries online. These companies charge inflated prices then relay your order onto a florist after taking a hefty percentage for their own fee.... Do your research and order directly. Speak to a florist in your delivery area or order with your trusted local florist- Flowers by Tammi!

18.01.2022 Being a florist isn't just a job. Our call of duty goes well beyond making pretty flowers. Last week I delivered flowers to a little old lady in a nursing home for her 100th birthday. At first she told me that it wasn't her birthday, she was 100 next year not that day. Then she held my hand and explained to me how her legs are paralyzed, her family hardly visit, she can't remember from one 5 minute stint to the next. She looked me in the eye and told me that she was ready to... die. If God was kind he'd take her already. I held her hand, it felt like it was the first kindness she had been shown in a long time. She told me how she missed her mother Dorothy and wanted to be with her again. It broke my heart. Be a bit more patient and loving. It doesn't take much effort to be kind. - Tammi #flowersbytammi #bekind #flowers

15.01.2022 Last week we celebrated our 1st Birthday in our first shop. To celebrate we would like to give a bouquet of beautiful fresh flowers to a beautiful person. Just in time for Mother's Day. Simply comment below with who you think deserves some brightening up and why. I will start: I choose my Mother Tracey. She is the strongest most kind hearted woman in my world. Her selfless support and endless love has made me the florist I am today.... Make sure you like and share this status as well as like the 'Flowers by Tammi' Facebook page to find out who is chosen. We will select the special person on Saturday in time for Sunday delivery.

14.01.2022 Tammi's Tips & Tricks #002 Make that little bit of extra effort with your flowers and remove all excess leaves and foliage below the water line. Foliage causes bacteria growth in the water which reduces the happiness and life span of your flowers.

12.01.2022 Flowers by Tammi is reaching out to like-minded people. Do you know a business person of any sort in the Sutherland Shire? Someone in Event styling, Photography, a creative profession or Design of any sort? Send them our details, we want to communicate and are hoping find people to grow with.

11.01.2022 I couldn't come home without a bundle of pepper corn this morning at the markets. The smell of it reminds me of being a little girl under the pepper tree at my Great Grandparents home in Woodstock, NSW. It's amazing how the sense of smell can bring forth such vivid, beautiful memories.

11.01.2022 The first days of spring always bring an abundance of change... It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that we have to close our Caringbah shop. Unfortunately this decision was out of our hands as the pending renovations to our area don't include a florist. This is not the end of Flowers by Tammi, we will be continuing business as usual and are still booking in weddings, events and taking orders. We will be operating from our studio in Heathcote and are still offeri...ng our free shire deliveries. Words cannot express how grateful I am for this opportunity, I have met some beautiful people and have gained both loyal clientele and genuine friends. So far we think Friday the 25th of September will be our last day open. Please pop in over the next couple of weeks. We have our whole collection of plants, pots, crystals, home wares and more all reduced dramatically in price as we simply can't take it with us. Thank you for your support so far, but I assure you that this is just the beginning of bigger and better things for Flowers by Tammi.

07.01.2022 People often tell me how lucky I am to work with flowers everyday. I couldn't agree more. What some people don't realise though is that being a florist goes far beyond arranging flowers. On a weekly basis I help people express their emotions, be it spreading love or expressing sympathy. I'm invited to be a part of some of the most important parts of people's lives. I shed tears of joy and excitement with brides on their wedding day. I share tears of grief with the families of loved ones lost. I'm so grateful for the the people who use my services as a florist, not only do they take home my flowers and creations, they take with them a little piece of me, for everyday I spill my heart and soul into my work and I wouldn't have it any other way
