04.01.2022 Surprisingly, during [COVID-19] we have been very busy. It has been one of the busiest times we have ever seen. Taking into account we have had no weddings or... events, we just had so many flower deliveries because people couldn’t visit their family and friends in person. It was so nice to have so much support from the Canberra community. We love to collaborate with other local Canberra businesses. On special occasions like Mother’s Day we collaborate with local bakers and chocolate makers to share the love around. There’s always exciting things to do in this business. In early January on a 40-degree day, we were creating flowers for a wedding and had to do a huge three-metre by three-metre floral archway in the entry of St Christopher’s Church in Manuka. A team of 15 worked to complete it, right before it poured rain. Sometimes it really does take a village. Floristry for me is such a creative outlet. Just the nature of flowers and the design aspect is ever-changing. Year to year the styles change, and it’s nice to be able to keep moving in different directions. I feel very fortunate to work here as I get a lot of creative freedom. It’s been amazing to see some of Canberra’s businesses bloom during COVID-19. Florist Sarah Scott from Dickson’s Flowers from The Garden has been grateful for plenty of local support amid a challenging time. #CBRtogether #wearecbr
