21.01.2022 Karen's tiger experience in India. On a recent trip to India I stayed at a place called Rathambore south of Agra which is famous for it’s national park where tigers are protected to live and breed in the wild. A Safari was organised early one morning for our group to enter this park. I was excited at the prospect of seeing a tiger in the wild but was told this is not the best time of year to see them (mid September) and in fact the actual main part of this park didn’t even ...open to the public until October. With my expectations lowered we bounced along for a while with our expert guides continually stopping to listen for signs a tiger might be nearby. This was the numerous breeds of local deer warning each other with their individual calls. I wasn’t disappointed as it turned out. The first sighting was of a young cub approximately 9 months old. He looked pretty big to me. As he wandered away we followed him to a well camouflaged spot where he (or she) sat down and proceeded to meow not unlike a domestic cat but in a slightly deeper tone. Behind us, another car’s guide yelled across a clearing. This was different to what I experienced in Africa. There you had to stay very quiet if an animal is sighted. We quickly headed towards them just in time to see a tigress and another cub the same size start heading through a clearing towards the other cub. Now I realised that the original cub wasn’t so big after all! What a great experience to follow this Mum and her babies until they disappeared from sight. I only wish my camera had a better zoom but this photo was taken by one of my friend’s who did. We did actually get within about 30 metres of the tigers trio but they weren’t interested in a meal of humans thank goodness.

06.01.2022 Welcome back David & Ena from Iran. "Just wanted to let you know that we have returned from our break in Iran.thanks for your help with organising everything. Really appreciate the effort and time that you spent with the planning - everything went smoothly and we were in extremely capable hands over there. Iran is one of the most hospitable, friendliest and safest countries that we have ever been to ! Even bumped into One Republic while we were transiting in Bangkok!" "here are other shots that I took at the Pink Mosque in Shiraz they were doing a modelling shoot at that time . without their headscarves on and in a mosque !!! A lot more liberal than I perceived! "
