23.01.2022 Hi all Yogis, Monday Yoga classes are starting up again as of next Monday 17th at 10am at Allara. We have beginner yogis and yogis returning back to yoga, so this class will be gentle and we will gradually build intensity as we progress building strength and flexibility. This class is for you if you are looking for a gentle nourishing and revitalizing flow to practice self-love, self-care and take some time for you. Connecting to your breath and body and letting go of any... stress and worries. With a focus on alignment, breath and listening to the body to find what feels good for you. All clients that were canceled when we had to close in March have been contacted with the option to re-book. Appointments are limited due to strict cleaning protocols in place where a high standard of cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting will be maintained before, throughout and after your care.... 13.01.2022 I have been asked to share this Banana cake recipe. It has great ingredients and is easy to make. I swop some of the flour for almond meal which is left over from making my almond milk. I use olive oil in place of sunflower. I sometimes add a little baking powder to help it rise a little. Hope you like it, i do. A lovely treat with good ingredients. If you would like the almond milk recipe please let me know, happy to share, it is so much nicer than shop bought.

All you ladies are so friendly, supportive and welcoming to each other it warms my heart and is so wonderful to see. 09.01.2022 Lower Back Pain Your lower back is a complex set of joints, nerves, fascia and muscles that all work together to create stability and movement of the body. To avoid pain and tightness it is important to have a balance between mobility and strength in the area as well as having the areas above and below it functions correctly. Your lower back is influenced by your posture, thoracic spine, pelvis and hips. If one or more of these areas isn't functioning properly, you get a brea...k down in the kinetic chain which is where pain, tightness and injury can occur. There are many common causes of lower back pain. Often there are several pieces of the puzzle that need to be addressed to decrease pain and tightness. Some of the common causes can be: Muscle weakness Joint stiffness Poor posture Over use, gym and everyday life jobs Sitting Lower Back Pathologies including Nerve, Disc and/Facet Related Conditions Poor biomechanical function How does Remedial Massage help? The key is to work out which link/s in the chain are not functioning correctly and creating a plan of attack to improve their function. It has been a very difficult decision that hasnt been made lightly. I am so sorry for any inconvenience. I think this is the best and safest way to go with how the virus is spreading. If you have any issues I could send you some stretches and exercises, I may also have some suggestion on how you co...uld help yourself in the meantime so please let me know and I am happy to help where I can. I am going to be doing some free online yoga classes and you are very welcome to join in to help stretch and strengthen your muscles. 05.01.2022 MASSAGE THERAPY FOR MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS (MS) Benefits - Pain, Stress Reduction Multiple sclerosis is a condition where there is inflammation of the myelin tis...sue covering the nerves. This inflammation varies; it may worsen and then gradually subside. After the inflammatory response, there is formation of scar tissue, which hinders the neurological function of the patient. The spinal cord, brain stem and cranial nerves are commonly affected. Massage therapy is very beneficial in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. Massage therapy helps in reducing stress and alleviates the symptoms of MS such as pain and loss of function. The massage therapy done in MS patients depends upon the intensity of the disease and its stage. Massage therapy should be avoided in the acute stage where there is exacerbation of the MS, as it aggravates the pain and discomfort. Deep tissue massage does wonders in relaxing the tense and knotted muscles and helps in decreasing the pain. Trigger point therapy is also beneficial in MS. Swedish massage therapy comprises of gentle massage and is advised in the initial or acute stage, as even slight pressure causes pain to the patient. The biggest problem which the patients suffering from MS face is muscle and joint stiffness. This greatly restricts their functionality and mobility. Massage therapy helps by stimulating the blood flow to these body parts which in turn speeds up the healing process and increases flexibility. Massage therapy also helps in arresting the onslaught of the disease and improves the prognosis. In serious cases, weakness of the muscles can also cause atrophy which further leads to deterioration in the patients condition. In such a case, massage therapy helps in increasing the blood flow and oxygenation to affected muscles and also helps in regaining health and energy.

Remember to stay safe in your practice, only go as far as comfortable with your body and only feel a gentle stretch, never any pain. Ease off the pose if you feel any pain at all.
