25.01.2022 Congratulations our Esport team for placing 3rd in Season 2 of the XP HSL Rainbow 6 Champions of Australia! Led by Errol, the team lost only 1 game in the lead up to the Finals. Awesome work by Kynan, Brendan, Matthew and Ciaran. Thanks to XP High School League and the sponsors for running the event.
25.01.2022 This week our 10 Geography class engaged in a mock panel on coastal solutions and debated on ways to save an eroding beach front at Palm Beach. All students assumed stakeholder roles and after much discussion and debate, they voted on a sea wall and a beach replenishment scheme as the most cost effective and least invasive modes of protecting the beach and cliff houses. Engaging in real world problems - 21st Century skills!

22.01.2022 Our Year 9 students have excelled in their recent history assessment. They had to write an essay on whether Australia was colonised or invaded. Students could take any position as long as they could provide the evidence to prove their argument. They used cognitive verbs - analysing, evaluating and synthesising to develop convincing arguments for their case. 100% of the class received a B or higher with 6 receiving an A+! Rachel, Tiffany, Alya and Zoe are very proud of their results. All of these students are preparing extremely well for their journey towards Years 11 &12. This is PREPARED, DEDICATED and ENGAGED!
22.01.2022 The FLAKE Clean Up Crew The Junior leaders have been working hard to help beautify FLAKEs grounds. They have called themselves the FLAKE Clean-up Crew and are determined to rid the school of litter, encouraging other students to do the same. Well done Crew!!

20.01.2022 Write that Essay competition winner. Congratulations Ameleah on winning the Year 8 category of our Write that Essay competition. Outstanding effort! In the beginning, who really wore the shoes? Small, red, shiny shoes. None of this had really mattered as everyone had died. Surprisingly, no-one had discovered the murderer, but it wasn't like it really mattered because who was alive to complain. It was a dark and grey world now; no colour could be found anywhere except for the shoes. The shoes, which had survived through all the darkness, were the only thing that was left. When everyone had died, all that was left was the small traces of lives in homes. Nothing had taken over all worlds.
20.01.2022 This is what happens during the off season... Josh loves playing rugby league for our school, but decided that he needed to stay fit during the off season. So he chose baseball, and now he has the potential to go all the way! Josh recently competed in the State Baseball Carnival earlier this month, where he has been selected to play for the Queensland team and now he will compete in National competition in January 2021. Perhaps one day we will see him in the international arena. Good luck Josh, we wish you all the best!
