Human thing?) but one of the things Ive been working on in the last few weeks has been to listen (Im also not so great at that ) and try to understand before jumping right into defense mode When someone calls you out, even if its to teach you something valuable, its SO easy to immediately want to defend yourself. For most of us its second nature. After all, our gut reaction likely doesnt feel so great. Feelings hurt? Sure. Embarrassed? Probably a little. But also a great way to learn? Damn straight. So lets try something together, yeah? Next time someone corrects you, take a breath, and take a beat. Is this really something you need to challenge, or an uncomfortable truth you need to deal with? If its the latter, time to own up babe. Apologize and take action. And then do it all over again the next time. See more
