25.01.2022 Come say hi to us at Great Eastern Fly-in at the Evans Head Aerodrome

24.01.2022 It’s a big thumbs up from Oli‘s youngest passenger so far!

21.01.2022 Hi there, I hope you all managed to stay safe and positive during this difficult time. For legal and safety reasons and to protect our students I decided mid-March to close the doors of my training facility and to cancel all existing booking. These were tough 8 weeks where we couldn’t fly, as driving to the airfield and taking the gyro up on a spin would have been regarded as non-essential travelling, which was not permitted in most states. I just would like to inform you tha...t now the curve has flattened and restrictions are more and more easing we will continue with flight-training and open the doors for our students again on Monday the 25th of May. Of course, all training will take place with sensible safety measures, e.g. having no physical contact with the instructor, social distancing of 1.5 m in the briefings and wearing a facemask in flight. All students will also be provided with a new microphone foam on headsets and helmets. Controls and other surfaces of the gyro will be sanitised after each use. I am personally very excited, not only to start training again, but also because this is one of my favourite flying-season of the year as the whales are currently migrating again in the waters around Cape Byron and providing us with stunning views. I am aware that the borders of some states are still closed and that there are still travel restriction in place, but if you are in NSW or can manage to travel to Byron then please contact me asap, to book your next training slots. I am looking forward to hear from you soon. Thank you. Warm Regards, Oli (CFI Byron Bay Gyrocopters)

20.01.2022 2020 HAPPY 20th ANNIVERSARY 20 years of professional Flight Training Oli Mueller started his instructor apprenticeship in 1999 with the Sky-Team Germany and became soon after a certified flying instructor in 2000. Since that time he dedicated his life to aviation and was working full-time as a flying instructor for various aircraft under DHV, DULV, HGFA and ASRA. For the last 10 years Oli has specialised in gyrocopters.

20.01.2022 Oh what a feeling..It's so good to be back in the air again, after restrictions have been eased, borders opened and we are finally operational again. Last Friday our student Gawie was able to finish the training in his Cavalon after the long Covid-19 break. Here in the picture you see him with a big gyro-grin after his last landing of his flight-training. Thank you for your patience Gawie and for being such a good student. Well done!!!

20.01.2022 Also very excitingly Oli has been working on his fixed wing license for last two weeks. Unfortunately no solo flight for him as the weather turned bad but also well done

19.01.2022 Big smiles and happy landings. Colin, a converting fixed wing pilot finalised his flight training with us and ended his solo flight with whale watching over Cape Byron. Congratulations, you‘ve been a great student! Have always happy landings

17.01.2022 Last week we had Rob coming up from Melbourne to check out our latest Cavalon. What a great we had flying this enclosed; side by side gyro in strong wind conditions. Hopefully see you again soon.

15.01.2022 New Year - New Look For 2020 we recently updated our flying school logo. I hope you like it.

14.01.2022 Last weekend we've been at Evans Head at the Great Easter Fly-In showcasing our new Cavalon model, where the Gyro attracted the interest of some very special guys coming from far, far away to have a closer look at it..

12.01.2022 On Wednesday was Russell’s big moment when he finalised his training with perfect takeoffs, soft landings and a big smile . He even tool the gyro on a small XC-flight through the Byron Shire. Well done Russell

06.01.2022 Hmmm, that helmet looks pretty good on me, don’t you think? I can’t reach the stick or the rudder yet though so I might have to give the helmet back to Daddy who is actually going on a flight with Oli.

06.01.2022 What a week of training in strong winds for converting pilot Fishy. But it was so worth the effort, because yesterday he landed his last solo flight to Cape Byron and Brunswick Heads with whale watching and spotting a hammer-head shark. What a great finish. Congratulations to your gyro license!
