25.01.2022 I have an exciting development to share with you all!!! A few weeks ago, following the magical Winter Solstice inspired Yin Yoga class that I held for my Yoga Teacher Training group, I was asked to fill in for one of Spanda Yoga Schools regular teachers, and teach the 9:30am Yin Yoga class. I was nervous to facilitate a class for students who were paying to attend...... I didn't feel worthy... But as I wrestled with my fears, I remembered how protective my beautiful mentor Ava is of her beautiful business Spanda Yoga School, and I knew that she wouldn't have asked me to facilitate if she didn't believe in me wholeheartedly, so I said yes, and I ran the class, and it was awesome!!! I filled in again the following Friday morning, and I'm filling in again tonight (Wednesday) at 6pm!!! 23.01.2022 It's time. It saddens me to inform you all that I will be closing Flying High until further notice... Since my announcement on Wednesday, the decision to remain open hasn't sat right with me... Continuing to treat is no longer in the best interests of the community. Yes, for a moment I believed that my hands-on practices were the best way for me to support my community during these highly stressful times, but as infection rates rise and more places go into lockdown, I no lo...nger believe that to be the case. The best way for me to support my community now is to continue taking care of myself, to remain informed, to keep learning, growing, and becoming a better practitioner (and person), and to prepare for when I am able to return to doing what I love. I already miss you all, and I already miss my practice, but this decision is for the best, and I know that we will all come out of this difficult time with a greater sense of love, appreciation, and connection (despite the isolation and social distancing). 16.01.2022 Around 2 years ago, my beautiful partner found Singing Bowls Perth - Himalayan bowls and took me on a surprise adventure to her showroom in Clarkson where he bought me my very first hand-beaten Himalayan singing bowls!! A 14cm C note, and a 20cm A note. That incredibly heartfelt gift marked the beginning of my sound healing journey, and as I admired all the sizes and sounds, I set the intention to come back again and gift myself a BIG bowl. A few days ago, I was finally able to fulfil that intention and purchase this mystical beast!! At just over 31cm in diameter, and weighing in at around 3 kilos, this glorious queen is tuned to the note B and resonates with the energy of the Crown chakra. I love her so much!!!

Let me re-introduce you to Flying High Health & Wellness. It is time to give yourself permission to put yourself first. I strongly believe that nothing is possible without first taking proper care of yourself. I am here to help eliminate any guilt, shame, fear, resentment or anger that you may feel when prioritising your ow...n health and wellbeing. To remind you to put yourself first and to make sure that you never apologise for it. At Flying High we specialise in promoting healthy self-care practices, providing guidance and tools to help you identify, establish and maintain your own self-care practices, providing treatments for those suffering from burnout and overwhelm, and helping you identify the signs and symptoms of burnout and overwhelm so that you may address your needs from a place of embodied self-awareness. How do you practice self-care? Identify the practices in your life that leave you feeling nurtured, nourished and supported and try incorporating at least one of those practices into each day. Self-care is personal to you, it can take many forms, your needs also change day to day, try checking in with yourself using breathwork, yoga or meditation (any practice that will bring you into the body) to help you connect with the self-care practice you need most each day. 15.01.2022 ... Once I knew the truth at times I wished I didn’t because it was easier to not know than to actively participate in the changes needed and required. This aw...akening is not for the weak, this is why you were chosen and actively and consciously chose to come to down here. You knew you had exactly what it took to unshattle the chains of bondage that was put upon Planet Earth and her habitats. So you agreed to come down through cycles of Karma to rewrite her Grid. 13.01.2022 Happy self-care Sunday my glorious little light beings! I'd like to thank you all for your patience during my social media hiatus. There's so much I've been dying to share with you! This is a big post so I will be sharing it in three parts and releasing the full version as my very first Wellness Blog post! Laying the Foundation ~ Part 1... Since the beginning of my Yoga Teacher Training in September, I have been processing and integrating a lot of new information, thoughts, ideas, and practices, and it is taking me longer than I expected to be able to articulate and share my experiences. However, one thing has become very clear to me. Let me explain. On the first day of the training course we each shared why we were there, what had drawn us to learning Yoga. I thought I was there for professional development, to offer another wellness service to my clients and enhance my existing healing practices, but as the question went around the room I realised that most people were there for personal development. It struck a cord within me, although I didn't yet understand why. I remember thinking wow, what a gift these people are giving themselves. 10 months of study and practice, the financial expense, and for no other reason than personal interest and fulfilment. Some didn't even intend to teach! It was a huge revelation for me. I began to realise that it was okay to do things for myself. Not everything required a practical application or the promise of future financial gain. I could pursue things simply out of interest and the desire for personal fulfilment, and the only permission I needed was my own. At the time this realisation was subtle. I didn't acknowledge it in the moment for what it was (life changing!), it's only in hindsight that I am able to identify the beginning of a huge personal shift in awareness and understanding.

12.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel my market appearance today... I feel I can share with you all that following my retreat last weekend I have been feeling rather fragile, and I haven't taken the time I need to nurture myself since. I made the last minute decision to take this weekend for myself so that I may rest and integrate my experiences. Thank you for your patience and understanding as I gently land back in my being, and I am very much looking forward to sharing my experiences with you when I am ready.

12.01.2022 Laying the Foundation ~ Part 2 I toddled along, half aware of the shift occurring within me, then came New Years. After having established a semi-regular Yoga and Meditation practice, and being in a highly supportive environment, I was finally capable of looking inward and addressing my own needs, so I focused my New Years intentions on self-care. I promised to wholeheartedly commit to my own healing and self-care in 2020 by checking in with myself regularly, practicing daily... Yoga and Meditation, practicing daily self-healing, and setting clear and healthy boundaries for myself. Not long after I began these self-care practices, the full internal shift occurred and I experienced my aha moment. Self-care is my why. It is the heart of Flying High and the foundation of my therapeutic practices. For months I had been overextending myself physically and mentally (and had completely abandoned myself spiritually) in an attempt to meet the needs and expectations of others. I had zero regard for my own health and wellbeing, became disconnected from myself and my core values, and both my business and I fell out of alignment as a result. How could Flying High possibly function as a health and wellness practice without first being healthy and well itself?! Through the practice of self-care, I came back into alignment with my Self, my core values, and my intentions, and everything around me has begun reflecting this alignment. My mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing, my relationships, and my business and offerings. I can finally live my life, run my business, and serve my clients without disregarding my own health and wellbeing.

10.01.2022 Ever since I decided to close, I have felt this persistent pressure to provide content... My news feed is flooded with businesses like my own, rapidly shifting their offerings to online plaforms, reassuring their supporters that the show will go on. Businesses that are trying to stay active and relevant in this rapidly shifting environment, that are reaching out and connecting with their audience more than ever before. Despite working behind the scenes every day since clo...sing our doors, I was feeling inadequate... Then yesterday I decided to stop working completely. Instead of lingering in the limbo state between productivity and procrastination while beating myself up with comparisons and self-criticism, I felt that taking a step back would be the best way to move forward. Instead of working I read books, played with oracle cards, spent hours out in nature, did Yoga online with @spandaschool and @avairani_, and hung out with my cats. This morning I sensed a yearning for that same self-care treatment, so instead of burying myself in business and busy-ness, I honoured that yearning. My cat joined me for morning yoga, I lovingly prepared some cacao, did some crystal healing, read some more (finally getting around to some @tarabrach @byron.katie and @brenebrown) spent more time in nature, and reconnected with my intentions. The comparisons have since melted away. I am enough. I will be patient with myself and my process. I am on the right path. I am preparing. Cultivating. Becoming. Rest assured, Flying High is not closed. Yes, hands on practices are suspended, but we have some very exciting offerings coming. Everything is happening in divine timing. I trust. See more

10.01.2022 We are living in an extremely volatile and heightened energetic field of fear, division, intolerance, accusations, opinions, blame and projections right now. ... You name a shadow, we are in it We are IN. IT. Well and truly, the game has changed forever and will continue to do so. A tangible sense of apprehension looms for some, as many genuine and authentic voices are being held back due to not wanting to be turned upon by the masses for sharing individual and unique viewpoints. Where ‘check your facts’ and ‘do your research’ are getting flung around every which way Where are we going to do this research? Where are we going to find these ‘facts’? In the GREAT MYSTERY that we live in, and were inherently designed to live within. Online? Reading more articles? Watching more videos? Ingesting more documentaries and theories? There is SO much conflicting information in the world, and that, by its design is what keeps us seperate, confused and suffering more than we have to. The monumental invitation for every human being on this planet is to find their own truth that resides inside Not anyone else's. To live and let live and to tune into what's actually our real and unique truth. One is going to find it very challenging to find their own truth if they are constantly caught up in the noise, drama, complexity, deafness, needing to be right and all the rest of this onslaught that is happening in the external world right now. Yes, there are very important themes that are playing out right now that need people to be standing up for their rights as sovereign and well informed beings that we incarnated on this planet to be. Yet we are never going to reach these desired states of humanity by attacking each other, defending someone else’s views and agendas and needing our ‘facts’ to be forced down another's throat if they don’t resonate with the same thing as we do. Kindness. Diplomacy. Discernment. Compassion. Restraint. Relaxing the mechanisms that keep us seperate. Ownership and accountability for our shadows and wounds - which we ALL carry - so that we are far less inclined to project it on the ones that ultimately want the same freedom as we do. How we treat ourselves and respect others is what wins this one. For every human being on the planet to thrive and to find their own truth in whatever is, through whatever is presented at any stage of the game going forward. That's where we’ll find the ease that the majority of human beings long for in this realm, as distant as it may seem. 10.01.2022 I thought I was spared the horrid "motivational" phrase going around now "If you don't come out of this with a new skill, you never lacked time, you lacked disc...ipline" until I saw it on my local yoga studio page. As a trauma psychologist, I am utterly utterly horrified, enraged, and bewildered about how people can believe and spread this phrase in good conscience. We are going through a collective trauma, that is bringing up profound grief, loss, panic over livelihoods, panic over loss of lives of loved ones. People's nervous systems are barely coping with the sense of threat and vigilance for safety, or alternating with feeling numb and frozen and shutting down in response to it all. People are trying to survive poverty, fear, retriggering of trauma, retriggering of other mental health difficulties. Yet, someone has the nerve to accuse someone of lack of discipline for not learning a new skill, and by a yoga teacher! This cultural obsession with [capitalistic] "productivity" and always spending time in a "productive" "fruitful" way is absolutely maddening. What we need is more self compassion, more gentle acceptance of all the difficult emotions coming up for us now, more focus on gentle ways to soothe ourselves and our pain and the pain of loved ones around us, not a whipping by some random fucker making us feel worse about ourselves in the name of "motivation".

The body is getting blasted with very high Solar, Full Moon/Eclipse and Galactic frequency energies right now and it’s affecting the ...plexus, so stomach, gallbladder, digestive system. 06.01.2022 So, BIG news! ~ On Saturday April 25th I stepped down from my role as the on-site Remedial Massage Therapist at Kensington Chiropractic for Health! ~ I have been sitting on this news for a few days because there is a lot more to it that I want to share with you all, but this announcement needed to be made as all appointment enquiries must now come directly to me. The clinic will not reach out to me on your behalf if you contact them by mistake!... ~ Now, don't panic! This is not the end of Flying High, in fact it is only the beginning!! ~ My decision back in March to suspend all hands-on practices has lead to a re-evaluation of my business and my offerings, and I am making a few much needed changes to both. 06.01.2022 Good afternoon my loves Since the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation began I have been watching and waiting, wondering what to say and what to do, what measures to take to ensure the safety of myself and my clients. I have been following the information and guidance provided by the World Health Organisation, my association ATMS, and the example set by other businesses like my own, and to be honest, other than diligently maintaining (and in some cases improving) my existing ...infection control practices and procedures, and closely monitoring my own health, I am continuing as normal. What I would like to emphasise is consideration. Not only for yourselves and your immediate friends and family, but for the community as a whole. If you have recently travelled, have come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, or are in any way unwell (COVID-19 or not) please do not book or attend any appointments with me at this time. If you or a friend or family member that you regularly come into contact with are in any way immunocompromised, please reconsider booking or attending appointments with me at this time. I do my absolute best to reduce the risk of infection by providing a clean treatment environment and ensuring that I am healthy and well myself, however it is impossible to mitigate all risks entirely. 06.01.2022 Today I turned 24, and I'm so happy! I thought I'd be horrified that another year has gone by in what felt like the blink of an eye, but I find myself feeling content and fulfilled. I am extremely proud of my achievements so far, and how far I have come in this little life of mine. I can't wait to see how I continue to grow, both as an individual and a business woman, and I am SO excited to have you all with me on the adventure that is Flying High. This photo of me being surprised and delighted by my little cat Alira, who apparently likes to sit on my shoulders, is how I intend to continue getting older, with surprise and delight at the magic that this life has to offer.

From this moment, the days begin to lengthen again, and this Solar Festival serves to honour and celebrate the return of the Sun, light, and life to the Earth. This seasonal shift is a symbolic reminder that the ultimate product of death is rebirth. We h...ave survived the harshest part of Winter, overcoming the death and darkness of the season, and are now preparing to re-emerge in the coming Spring. Traditionally representing the time of the first planted seed , the Winter Solstice is an ideal time to set our intentions for the coming year. Take a moment to reflect on your Winter experiences, and the seasons gifts of rest, reflection and renewal. Now is the time to let go of that which needs to die in order for you to truly harness the growth and abundance of Spring. Dive deep, do your inner work, and lay your foundations. As you begin sowing your own seeds of abundance, creation and manifestation, remember that all the energy you put out shall be returned threefold as the Earths natural abundance slowly returns. 01.01.2022 push yourself to get up before the rest of the world - start with 7am, then 6am, then 5:30am. go to the nearest hill with a big coat and a scarf and watch the ...sun rise. push yourself to fall asleep earlier - start with 11pm, then 10pm, then 9pm. wake up in the morning feeling re-energized and comfortable. lie in your garden, feel the sunshine on your skin. get into the habit of cooking yourself a beautiful breakfast. fry tomatoes and mushrooms in real butter and garlic, fry an egg, slice up a fresh avocado and squirt way too much lemon on it. sit and eat it and do nothing else. stretch. start by reaching for the sky as hard as you can, then trying to touch your toes. roll your head. stretch your fingers. stretch everything. buy a 1L water bottle. start with pushing yourself to drink the whole thing in a day, then try drinking it twice. buy a beautiful diary and a beautiful black pen. write down everything you do, including dinner dates, appointments, assignments, coffees, what you need to do that day. no detail is too small. strip your bed of your sheets and empty your underwear draw into the washing machine. wash, then hang them in the sunshine with care. make your bed in full. dig your fingers into the earth, plant a seed. see your success as it grows everyday. organise your room. fold all your clothes (and bag what you don’t want), clean your mirror, your laptop, vacuum the floor. light a beautiful candle. breathe. practice your deep breathing. ground yourself. have a luxurious shower with your favourite music playing. wash your hair, scrub your body, brush your teeth. lather your whole body in moisturiser, get familiar with the part between your toes, your inner thighs, the back of your neck. push yourself to go for a walk. take your headphones, go to the beach and walk. smile at strangers walking the other way and be surprised how many smile back. bring your dog and observe the dog’s behaviour. realise you can learn from your dog. message old friends with personal jokes. reminisce. suggest a catch up soon, even if you don’t follow through. push yourself to follow through. think long and hard about what interests you. crime? sex? boarding school? long-forgotten romance etiquette? find a book about it and read it. there is a book about literally everything. become the person you would ideally fall in love with. let cars merge into your lane when driving. pay double for parking tickets and leave a second one in the machine. stick your tongue out at babies. help an animal. compliment people on their cute clothes. challenge yourself to not ridicule anyone for a whole day. then two. then a week. walk with a straight posture. look people in the eye. ask people about their story. talk to acquaintances so they become friends. lie in the sunshine. daydream about the life you would lead if failure wasn’t a thing. open your eyes. take small steps to make it happen for you...
